My -story, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........  my story..............  What do ya start with????????

I am starting at 262 lbs., with diabetes for 15 years, high blood pressure, high lipids and a bum ankle.  Turned 50 this year.......

AND ------- it's time for a change.  I am a Radiation Oncology Case Manager  - a fancy name for a nurse that works with cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.  I have two sons,  27 year old and  25 year old.  I am single, been divorced since 2004 after 25 years of marriage.  It took me a long time to get over that, but now I help those get through the struggle and pain of divorce by helping facilitate divorce recovery workshops.  You know you've won the battle when you can start giving back what you've learned to others!  I am a survivor and will continue to be a survivor of life!

It is time to focus my attention on myself.  I want to live!  I want to be alive!  I want to live to the fullest the rest of my life!  After thinking about having surgery for a few years now, I made the step and saw the surgeon for consultation in early January.  My insurance has now approved the procedure, I've had the nut and psych visit, and am just waiting for the call to schedule.  My surgery will most likely be in mid April due to staffing issues at work.  One other nurse and myself handle 60 radiation therapy patients on a daily basis plus new consultations!  -- Anyway,  my son is staying with me the spring through summer, and my other son can come visit in mid May -- so they -- along with you guys and a few friends will be my cheering section!  I am so anxious to get started on my new journey!!!
