I have been overweight for much of my life and very close to Super Morbidly Obese about the last 3 years.  I come from a family where it seems everything has always been based around food.  Thanksgiving, birthday parties, any kind of get together always involves my sister organizing who is bringing what lol.  I know this probably sounds ridiculous but I never really saw how big I was until about the last year or so.  It seems every picture taken of me I am a bit bigger until this past Thanksgiving I finally noticed.  My sister brought a picture over of my twin brother and I that she had enlarged and put into a frame for me.  He is normal weight, a hard working man.  I couldn't believe the difference in our sizes.  In the picture, we are sitting beside one another on a loveseat and he is like squished into the corner while I occupy the majority of the seat!  I look about 2.5 times the size of him.  It was certainly eye-opening to say the least!!  It was then, really that I knew I had to do something about my weight.  I have begun the paperwork and I hope and pray that by the new Year that my surgery will take place.  This site has really been inspirational to me.  I have read numerous profiles and looked at all the before and after pictures and it inspires me to feel that I can do the same as so many before me.  The members on the Ontario board have been overwhelmingly supportive and informative, I can't say enough about the level of comradery that I feel when I get messages from members.  So a great big Thank You to all.  I will keep you posted on what is happening in so far as getting my surgery date, and to all those going through surgery and working at getting their weight off the very best of luck and strength is sent out to each and every one.
