STUPID WEIGHT.

Feb 13, 2012

Okay, so I after all this had to get the band removed to a slip. So alllll the money I put into it was all for nothing. I am back up to 145, which is not that bad but no where I want to be at. Now I am looking at the DS. I feel like I getting a bit extreme with this weightloss journey but I've came this far, I cant give up. The band was really working, I was down to 130 and looking and feeling good. Went for a fill and a couple days later I was getting sick none stop and had to get it removed. I dont recommend the lapband to anyone, nothing but problems and waste of money if unsuccessful. Now I am researching the Duodental Switch. Another MAJOR sergury, but I think this surgery would do the trick. I just want to get down to 130 and stay there. I wish it were so much easier.

Well until next time....

Update 8/17/11

Aug 16, 2011

Today I am currently at 142 lbs. I have had the lap band over bypass for a while now. My port was flipped so had to have another surgery to get that fixed. Now I have had about 5 fills and its really tight. I can not eat very much and if I do I end up getting sick. That is no fun so I watch what I eat. I am going to start some protein shakes to boost my protein intake because solids are not going down to easy. Its an a sacrifice I dont mind dealing with to get to my goal weight of 130. Only 12 lbs to go!!

Until next time.

2 months and finally broke the 160's.

Nov 14, 2010

I am currently 158 lbs!! I am so glad I finally got out of the 160s into the the 150's. Woot Woot!! I found out that insurance is not going to cover the port revision. On to plan B. I am going to have the surgeon do the port that did my original surgery. The cost will be around $800 vs the $2000 here. I want to get to 140 before I get the port revision done. 18lbs in 2 1/2 months, right on track if I continue to lose 2lbs per week. I will be getting breast implants and a nose job, want to be within 20lbs of goal minimum. If i get to 140 I will be within 10lbs. This is all by myself because I haven't been able to get a fill. After I am able to get the fills, the weight loss will be even better!!! 120 would be sooooo awesome, 130 of course is the goal.

Working out 3 times a week, would like to step this up. I feel this is the piece that is missing but get so tired, etc etc etc with the excuses. That being said 3 times is more than what I was doing a month ago and maybe a month from now it will be even more.

Anyway, life is good for now.

Week 6.. Flipped port and no weight loss, ugh!!

Nov 01, 2010

Went to the Dr. to get a fill and after much pocking around decided port was flipped. This is what I was dreading would happen. I was really really bummed that this happened. The surgeons office is trying to get the approval to flip port around, if not its going to cost me upwards of $2000.
I also found out that they used a small band, typically with BOB patients they use larger bands so I already have restriction. This is good news because I have to wait to get the revision paid for or insurance approval. Its also good because I am healing while this process plays out.
The Dr. said that he is going to take the fills slow. I am not sure what that means, he was unsuccessful with putting anything in but didn't look like much in the syringe.
On the weight front, I got side tracked and depressed after the whole flipped port thing and ate a bunch of off diet crap. I didn't gain weight but didn't lose either. Back on track now and hope to see some lbs shed this week. Going to work out every day this week as well. No Excuses!!!

Until next time....

Oct 17, 2010

Tomorrow will be my 4 week or 1 month surgaversary. This week I have been off and on sleeping on my side. I have pulling going on around my port site. I am at 164 this week. That makes a new total of 17 lbs lost. I have my fill in two weeks, counting down the days for that.

Until next time...

3 weeks post op...

Oct 11, 2010

Three weeks out and not much to report. My port site hurts and the gas pain is still going strong. The gas gets worse at night when I lay flat, hopefully that will get better soon. I can eat pretty much anything within reason. I am mostly sticking to soft foods. I am down 2 lbs, 165 now. 150's are right around the corner. I am scheduled for a Oct 28th for my first fill, I feel then I will feel more like I had surgery. I guess right now is not for restriction of lossing just healing. 35 lbs to first goal of 130 lbs. Woo hoo!!

Until Next time..

Two weeks post op.

Oct 03, 2010

I am offically two weeks post op and can not start full liquids. I really have already, who can be on only clear liquids for two weeks, crazy talk. I have been pretty much on track with a few exceptions. Egg drop soup seems to be my staple.
Only a lb this week, and that is totally in the buff. I heard this could happen where I dont loss, totally different experiance than the GB. I seem to be hungry all the time, I guess is pretty normal as well.
Papaya and Enzymes is Awesome! I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me and had such a gassy feeling I thought I was going to heal over and die (dramatic). So I read on the threads that Papaya and Enzymes worked for someone else, so went to the store and got that and GasX just in case, and sure enough it worked. To not be to discriptive the rumblings in my tummy started to work its was out. I have had these rumblings in my tummy alot. I hope its not my Gallblader. That would really stink to have another surgery.
Until next time....

6 days out.

Sep 26, 2010

The Hospital...
Hospital is an overstatement. The clinic was in a strip mall next to Home Depot. Scary and funny all at once. The whole process was like I was back in 1975. All medical supplies, etc was all old school. I kept on reminding myself that war victims get worked on in the dirty outside so I could live through this. Everything about it was awkward and strange, but like the old saying goes, you pay for what you get, and I surely got just that. I wont get into all the gorey details because I am doing fine now and nothing tragic happened.

Recovery and Pain..
Pain was totally manageable. This surgery is a piece of cake vs. the first GBP. I feel alittle uncomfortable but expected so worse. The recovery is going well. Gas is getting under control and pain is just and equally under control.

Weight loss this far...
When I last weighed myself pre-op I weighed in at 181. Day of Surgery I weighed in at 178, and today I am 168, drum roll....... 13 lbs total in one week!!!!!! Looking at others on line, i am way ahead of the game. I will get a fill in about 5 weeks. Right now I have no restriction and am starving to freakin death. I mean I am really really hungry ALL the time. Keeping my eye on the ball for now and will start pureed foods soon and that will make things alot better.

Goal weight...
Setting a goal weight is so hard. I want to be realistic as well I want to push myself. I currently have a goal set at 130, that leaves me with 38 lbs to lose. That seems absolutely realistic. I really want to get to 110 lbs. That would be 58 lbs more to lose. I am short (5'1) that makes my healthy range 100 - 125 lbs. Right in the middle is my hope, but 130 would be awesome as well.

Drinking...
With the first surgery I picked up a bit of a drinking issue. This time around I moving forward clean and sober, not a drop. There are so many empty calories and I make bad food choices when there is drinking involved. I am going to meetings on Tuesdays to remind me why I shouldn't drink. I incorporate it as Alcohol Anonymous and Overeats anonymous. Both addictions I am familiar with.

Plastics....
I am looking at getting some work done in January/Feb time frame. I am going back to 1970 to get the work done, because again the price is right. I am looking to get lipo under my chin to get rid of the second one, cheek/lip fillers, breast implants and a long over due nose job. Its going to be pricey but worth it. I am going to get a lower body lift in May, as long as I'm at my goal weight, which is still undetermined. I would love to get into a bikini. Even if there are a few stretch marks, I'll still jump in one.

Lots of info here, until next time......

I survived...

Sep 23, 2010

Well I am 3 days out of the revision sergery. I am offically a BOB. All went really well. The hospital was alot different than I expected, but all in all I am healthy and happy. I am weighed in at 178 when I was weighed before surgery. I am now weighing 175, 3 lbs awesome! Right now I feel fine, but am as hungry as it gets. Its almost unbarable how hungry I am. I'll give it a bit more time and stick to the Dr's instructions. I'll go the whole process at a later date. Kinda tired and want to get started with a counter.
