July 18/07 - I am from Ontario, in February 2007 I decided to go to a Bariatric Seminar being held here at the Holiday Inn, after the seminar I was unsure if my family doctor would help me, so I waited and thought it over and over and then in May decided to go see my doctor, he was very supportive, helped me with all the paperwork and I brought it down to OHIP and within 3 weeks, the program coordinator at Henry Ford called me to say "approved", said it was weird because they normally don't approve for surgery first, they are supposed to approve for a consultation, so she w/as going to re submit and asked me to pick a surgeon, so I did. Well next was my appointment with Dr Marshall and this was on 7/18/7 in Warren, MIchigan, took about 25 minutes to get there, and spent 2 hours there, filled out tons of paperwork, and he discussed everything with me. Now I have to have a sleep study here in Windsor as to rule out sleep apnea, which I am pretty sure I do not have, but my husband said I snored once in a while, so we have to rule it out, the Dr also suggested a shake for breakfast, lunch, and low fat dinner, well silly me went and bought just slim fast, so not sure I bought right stuff, since surgery is not booked, I will go back to store and look again, very excited and anxious to get on with this, but now not sure if I have to do this information course before can get surgery, and then there is the sleep study, just want this all done so I can get to losing weight and be on my way to a healthier life!
