Chad's insurance doesn't cover any type of weight loss ~ even if it's medically necessary.  I guess that means for now I'm done.  I need to find a job that has insurance which will cover the surgery.  I've got several applications/resumes out with the school district we will be moving to.  I checked today and its BCBS-Texas and they have NO exclusions on WLS ~ it just has to be medically necessary.  But even if I get on with the ISD I'll have to wait awhile to have the surgery.  In the meantime I'm going back to my family doc to start a weight loss program with him so that I have everything documented.  I'm pretty let down but not completely discouraged.   Grrrr ~ I guess Cigna would rather pay for my BP, Cholesterol meds ...pay for my hip replacement, my future heart attacks and or strokes.  It's soooo stupid!!  It makes no sense.  I want to become healthier and in the long run it would cost them alot less.  Everything has got to be so damn complicated!!

I had my first appointment with my new family doctor today.  I love Dr Rodgers.  He referred me to Dr Dyslin at Arlington Memorial Hospital to start the bypass journey.  I had to register for a seminar on June 7th at the hospital.  After I attend the seminar I can set up an appointment with Dr Dyslin.  I'm so excited to just be on my way now.   I know it'll be a hurry up and wait process.  I just feel so good to have finally taken the steps to get the process underway.  He also scheduled me for another MRI for my back.  He needs to see the severity of the herniated, slipped, bulging of my L5-S1 disks.  He was worried because I have no strength in my left big toe, which is apparently a sign of something being wrong. I couldn't even push my big toe up when he pressed down on it.  I have an Rx for prescription motrin and Flexeral.  I didn't want to go the narcotic route because I don't want to become dependant on any meds.  Hopefully it'll give me some relief.  Also got an Rx for nexium for the acid reflux. and some new medication that is suppose to help you quit smoking.  As insurance won't cove the smoking Rx I'll have to wait a little bit before I fill that one.  Its a 3 month program.  I'll be glad to finally be rid of the smokes!  I'll save over $150 a month when I give up that nasty habit.

So that's where things are right now...waiting on the 7th!!
