I'm Karin and I just moved to Jacksonville, FL with my husband and two stepsons. I turned 31 in December 2012. In the summer of 2011, I started the process of looking into weight loss surgery in my hometown of Augusta, GA. I did about 4 months of my physician supervised diet and most of the tests and specialist visits. At that point, I think the universe plotted against me because a lot of things in my life changed. :-) My physician suddenly retired and I got promoted at work which meant I had to travel and do a lot for training. The most life-changing thing was when my husband (of less than one year) had his sons move in with us full-time. They are good kids but adolescent boys moving into our house permanently and becoming an instant parent changed things for me dramatically. I went from being a single girl with two cats to being married with two almost teenage boys. I had to learn to deal with kids and my husband in a whole new light. I let the surgery stuff fall to the wayside.
So a year later, in a new city, I was ready to pick up where I left off. I found a new surgeon and decided to go forward with the Gastric Sleeve surgery. My life has been about others for the past year and I have completely put my health and weight loss efforts aside. I want to focus on me again and I want to feel happy again with my body. Even 50 pounds less, I would feel like a new woman. I am starting now to try and lose at least 15 to 20 pounds before my surgery. I want to find people who are or were in the same situation as me. January 9, 2012 - Surgery date - 353 - 9 pounds down
1 month post op - 326 - 36 pounds down (27 this month)
2 months post op - 313.4 - 48.6 pounds down, (12.6 this month)
