Information below is from my old Profile. I am now 29 years old and almost a year post op and 112 pounds down WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 27 years old with 2 children I have been over weight since I was about 10 years old. This is when pubtery hit go figure. Every since I have tried the fad diets and gone to see the fat lady doctors, I have even gone as far as creating my own diet from other diets( do not try doesnt work). I have walked miles upon miles and richard simmons and I have cried while sweating to the oldies. I have fought with people i tell them I am fat period and I am happy that way. Which this is true and I am happy with myself. However about 4 years ago my mom told me she heard about WLS I started researching and something turned the light on and said this is for me......Here I am 4 years later a few rejections and lots of blood sweat and tears into this and I have my paper work ready my doctor on broad and it looks like the insurance company see's my point of view now so I will be keeping everyone updated.
(this is from my other profile that I have removed so you have a better time line and the these comments have to do with my experince with Dr Fry in Albuquerque who due to reasons the hosptial will not disclose has stopped doing the surgery)

07-16-02 update
Ok so it has been a year since I have last written and a lot has happened during the time last year I was working trying to get apporved I found I was pregnant with my second child. I delivered a baby girl on 2-20-02 via planned c-section. The docotr was off on his date and she ended up being born at 35 weeks instead of 37. but now at five months old hse is happy and healthy and growing every day.
My Battle with the weight rages on since the birth of the baby I am at my heaviest yet and I have looked in all kinds of different programs talked to my PCP who was anything but helpful. So I am at square one with an insurance that won't cover it cause they don't see the reason for the surgery and they also added a new clause this year to the plan. No weight loss meds. What fun this will be.
Been looking some of the pics and everyone who is postop looks great and to those still searching good luck.

Well I a set up with a new PCP with a new insurance company. I am at 344 lb and can't take this any more. I am going to beg pled and kick and scream till this doctor does something. I have a 2 and half year old and 1 year old and I can't keep up with them. I am tired of living life on a never ending roller coaster. I feel like all I do is sleep and work and eat I don't enjoy life So wish me luck.

Ok so since last post lets see I have been in a major car accident my youngest turned a year old and FINALLY I found a doctor willing to work with me....she has placed me on Meridia to see how this might help weight loss I am hoping it does and after 6 months if we don't notice anything then she is going to start the process for getting me my surgery ::crosses everything that can be crossed:: It would be nice if this med helps and I don't have to for go all the pain of surgery but I know on the other end it will be worth it

28 days till surgery and I am both excited and scared I am not sure why. I have had two c-sections and those are some hard core surgeries but this one is not just another surgery but also a rebirth it puts me on the other side of a battle I have been fighting for years. I am dealing with family members who are being very supportive but also dealing with a few who are being bitter and mean and not very supportive but those are my drive and my force to prove I can do this and that they are wrong...but smiles ahead and I will be ok.

I am on the other side woohoo. I will say that I was scared to death but now tha tI am on the other side I am happy and glad I did. So far the pain is managable but coughing is a little tricky. I keep telling myself act like it is a c-section and brace your tummy.
