I'm 37, mother of three beautiful boys and married to a great guy. I live in Spring, Texas - just north of Houston. We moved here about four years ago from Fort Lauderdale. I have battled with weight my whole life, always feeling like the fat girl - although looking back now, never as overweight as a I felt. About eight years ago, I successfully dieted down to 160 pounds and felt great. I had some personal drama that escalated and, with other factors, we moved to Houston. Since moving, my weight has spiraled out of control. I started investigating WLS in 2005, however, have never had insurance to cover it. A couple of weeks ago, I began working for a law firm that I absolutely love and one of the greatest perks is that my insurance (UHC Choice Plus) covers WLS!!! The only requirements indcated are BMI over 40 (or 35 with co-morbidities), over 18 and one surgery per lifetime. I am in the process of researching the different surgery options and welcome anyone's advice/input, support and friendship!!!
