I know you've heard it all before:
I've been overweight my whole life, I've tried many different programs for weight loss with short term success, I want to be healthy and active in my children's life now and far into the future...
It's ALL true!
Recently, a family member of mine had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. At first, I thought, OMG why would you be so CRAZY to go to Mexico for surgery??? Who does that? Well, I've discovered a lot of people do that and are so happy that they did. Once I began to research (and I mean, obsessive research) the VSG, I realized that I have another shot at getting healthy and this time staying healthy.
I am so amazed at the number of people who have NO REGRETS since their WLS. Trust me, I have tried to find people out there who are miserable and who regret it. But they're just not out there. The support I have found through my friends on OH has just made the start of my journey even better! Who knew that I would be able to get all my questions answered by people who actually have first-hand experience with it??
I know that it's not going to be easy (contrary to what some may think) and that it's a lifelong committment (as it should be) and I'm in it. For the long haul.
