Almost 5 months and vacation time arrives:)

Jul 18, 2009

In 10 days I will be 5 months post VSG. Someone told me at the beginning of my journey that I was in for the "ride of my life", they were not kidding!!!! This has been such an incredible journey thus far. No matter what I think or do...I still keep loosing, maybe only a little and sometimes more....but THANK GOD it keeps coming off. I have finally succumbed to a daily exercise regime and am feeling much more fit....I love summer, swimming and the sun! Hope I can be as motivated when the snow flies. I am down to 248 and am hoping for 245 by my 5 month surgiversary. That will be a total weight loss of 70 pounds for me. It has been a long time since I weighed under 250, I am so relieved to see this working for me. I seem to be averaging a 10# weight loss per month, (I lost 20# before surgery). Being diabetic, I consider this a good, steady loss. I am struggling right now to get my protein in because I am out of the shakes I love. It really makes a difference to have quick protein on hand! I am almost 1/2 way to my goal and am praying I will be at goal by the end of the year, or at least by my one year surgiversary. I am aware of the fact that weight loss really slows and sometimes even stops around a year out, so will keep trying to maintain my 10#/month loss. Will post after vacation, this is the first one since surgery...I am attending my daughter's graduation from Nursing school and my parents and 2 of my kids have not seen me in 15 months! Hoping to surprise them all:)
