Hello everyone!!!! Today was a great day, first I got on the scale and I finally left the 230's and I was 227, 47 lbs gone forever.  Then my 3 year old nephew and I went to the circus and I wasn't tired walking up and down the stairs at the coliseum and I also had room in the chair, I wasn't squishing into it.  It was a great feeling.  Also, I just got a job at the surgeons office and I start on Tuesday.  It will be great to get out of the house for a little while on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Also, my BMI went from 50.1 down to 43.4 and that I think is awesome. 

Hi everyone.  I hope all is well with everyone.  I had my 5 week post op appt today and I am down 40lbs that are gone forever.  Dr. Ahmad said everything is going great and that I can start exercising.  He suggested I join a gym so I am looking into that.  He also said that I can start on a regular diet.  So I am happy to report that so far so good and definetly noooo regrets.  I will continue to update as time goes on.

Yesterday was my first post-op visit and I am down 12 pounds in 1 week.  22 pounds in total since the beginning of January.  I couldn't believe it.  It definetly feels good.  Everything looks great and my incisions are almost already healed.  I am sooo glad I made the decision to do this.  Today my mom is going in for the surgery, actually she just left for the hospital.  I am so happy for her also.  I will update on how she did when I hear.

It's Sunday, and I have been home for three days and I feel great.  I have not needed any pain medication since I came home.  I started the full liquids today and have had no problem tolerating anything.  I was so afraid to eat anything even in the hospital for fear of it not agreeing with me.  Everything went great with my surgery, no complications, except that the tips of one side of my hair is blue from the dye they use to check for leaks during the surgery.  I haven't figured out how to get it out yet,, but hey it could be worse.
I just got back from walking at a little mall because it is so cold out and I feel better.  Walking, walking, walking, I can't say it enough, it definetly helped in the hospital and is still helping.
My Mom is going in on Wednesday for her gastric  bypass and I am nervous for her yet excited.  I truly thought that the recovery would be so much harder.  I go back to the surgeon on Tuesday to have my staples out.  I will keep you updated.

It's sunday, an d I have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 6:30.  My stomach is definetly spinning in circles today.  I am excited to.  At 3:00 today I have to drink the magnesium citrate and go on clear liquids, that much closer to the losers side. 

The doctors office just called and bumpd up my surgery to Monday.  I have butterflies in my stomach an dam soooo nervous.  I wil update before Monday.

Well, I had all the pre-op testing yesterday and signed all the necessary papers.  I started shopping for protein shakes, (I find the Advantage shakes are really good) and all the little toiletries for the hospital.  I am getting nervous but very excited.  I had no problems with my insurance, it was approved in  less than 1 day.  Now I have to get the citrate magnesium for the day before.  I'm ready!!!  I will write back before I go in.  See you on the losers side. 

Today I got my approval and surgey date.  January 24th(right around the corner) and I am both excited and scared.  Now I have to prepare my 8 year old because she is not taking this very well.  Everything has moved along so smoothly and quickly, this week I have my final appt wih Dr.Ahmad and all my pre-op testing is on Thursday also.  I will keep everyone updated as the day gets closer.
