NEW BODYBUGG

Feb 12, 2009

Got me the new bodybugg. Had the old one and found the need to replace batteries all the time, I faded from using it. The new one is rechargable and sleeker. It does not show under my suit sleeves.

Tonight I will enter the first day of data and see how a slow day at the office treats me step/calarie burn wise. Got golf tomorrow and cannot WAIT to see what 18 hold of golf reveals!

I like techie gadgets. I buy everyone I can get my  hands on and I usually love them.

So, let's see how long I use this one and how much it assists me on this life long journey.

Been a year since I posted

Feb 08, 2009

I have been off this site and lioving life. Pete and I got married in August and I have been working a lot. Along with that, I do a juvinile diversion program as well as Inns of Court........add to that my newfound passion for golf anytime, anywhere...I LOVE IT! Pete got me a cool set of PING G-10's and I am making sure he has gotten his monies worth. I joined the Executive Women's Golf Leauge as well as two golf meet ups. Also, one day a week, my collegue and I go hit balls at the driving range at lunch. Add that to my monthly 5k and I am as busy as I can be. But that is no excuse for not blogging or logging in to support others. SO, here I am again and I have GOT to stay connected. I turn 48 next week and bought myself a new bodybugg to continue my weight quest. Let's see where we go from here!

I am Loving this band

Feb 07, 2008

I have had one fill and will go in again on 2/12/08 for the second one. Though I do not feel real restriction in the sense of a sort of chokie thing, I am beginning to learn more about what restriction is........it is both physical and a mind set. Not trying to see how much can fit in, but eating an adequate amount and learning what THAT feels like. Amazing how that can teach on what real hunger and real satisfaction are. And the band is a great tool for both weight loss and behavior modificaiton. Other surgeries work and work well also. BUt for me, I always wanted ot be a person who ate good things in moderation. If I had gotten another surgery, I would not be learning the tools I need to learn to be an entire healthy me....if I could eat anything, like DS patients can, I would still hide behimd my food. If I could lose fast, I would not learn to see ME. I have always seen a elusive picture of myself...never correct.....when I was dieting, I thought I was bigger than I was...when I was on the gain, I thought I was not getting that big.........The band is a part of a system that allows me to take my time without near as much struggle as before. At two months into a diet without the band I would be cranky, guilty feeling if I cheated, and ready to quit. I am now doing great at making each day a way to learn about the new me I am creating......and I like that! 28 ponds down since 11/29/07.

BANDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dec 08, 2007

Well, 10 days ago, I officially joined the club. It went easy for me and I was thrilled with my surgeon and the care I got at the hospital. I am healing very well and had very little gas pain, though I did have the gas pressure and am still a motor boat. I have lost 9 pounds in teh first week and then holding the last couple days. I am midway through the three week thick liquid diet that I was required to be on post op.
..

Today I started the second part of my recovery. I went to Whole Foods and bought fresh fruit and veggies and will make fresh fruit protein shakes and vegitable juice. I want to get the best nurtrition I can in the amount of food I am allowed to ingest so that my hair and skin are healthy and I can get to my best potential health. I am excited to be my old hippy self instead of teh simple carb, fast food maven I had turned into!

On the home stretch

Nov 25, 2007

I went to pre-op on Wednesday. I weighed in at 314.6, so down a bit from my consult. I am getting anxious to get in there and get this done and really am excited to begin the losing game. Let me try to recollect:

Pre Op:     314.8
Consult:     319.3
Seminar:    310.0

So, during the limbo I gained waiting. My suits at work are a tad tight and I am hoping that will end rather quickly with some initial loss. I have protein shakes, popcicles and soups ready for my 3 week post op liquids.

OOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYY We are on our WAY!!!!!!!!!!

Nov 10, 2007

I met with the surgeons team today. What a great team I have. They want you to be sure your fills are adjusted so that you are not hungry between meals. That is the first criteria when considering fills.

I was so excited I found myself driving home, thinking about playing my trumpet, playing my guitar, riding my bike, hiking, burning CD's, doing, doing doing. It was FLOODING in!    What was all that??????

It was HOPE! Plain and simple. It hit me that I am going to get my life back and I got all misty eyed at the thought.

My official date is November 29. I have to stay overnight because of my insurance. I get the 10cc band that has pillows all the way around. They told me that in tracking their patients since the new band, they find weigh loss at the same rate as their RNY patients, which they were not expecting at all. I really don't want to loose too fast.

No preop diet, just don't gain any weight. I get the Q-pump pain thingy. I am going to actually impose a diet on myself as I have gained while in LIMBO and want to get a little of that new weight off.

Three weeks post op thick liquids. Anything I don't have to chew.

I am LOVING life now....Really am on my way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, Don't hate......

Oct 28, 2007

As I was driving around today in the Las Vegas Sun, I saw a jogger.....he looked good runnin. I passed convertables....the drivers all looked so GOOD!  I NEVER look good running, or driving.......So The Big banana got her hate on. Why not? Nothing else to do with it........So anyway. I was sitting in Starbucks and a guy came in with the Vegas Uniform of the Day: Cargo shorts, t-shirt and teva type sandles......

AAAAHHHHHH HA! Says the big banana! Men just never seem to get that their feet look HORRIBLE and cause most people to avert their eyes for the horror.   All that toe-knuckle-hair, fungus toe nails....COME ON!!!!!!!! Cover those puppies up before you start an epidemic...

But, I digress. Back to those people who look good no matter what they are doing,,,,,,peeling potatos, eating spagetti, bending over to pick up a paper clip. Super impose me into any of those activities and GOOD GOD ITS THE MOON COMING OVER THE MOUNTAIN!!!!!!!

Well. I have been told not to hate. Well I don't hate the person...I hate the very fact that they have  a vessel of beauty......now, did I say that out loud or did I just think it...........

Filled to the GILLS

Oct 05, 2007

I had a rushed day and ended it with dinner out at the Salt Lick. I had not had time to eat so when I got there I created my own weather system I ate so much so fast. I ate a whole potato and half my prime rib and can feel it clear up in my throat. I have not been banded so this is pure eat fest. Now I will have a yucky sleep worrying about reflux and aspiration. Won't I ever learn?????????
