Loving my band

Feb 20, 2008

Well I had my second follow up appt. this time with the physicians assitant A.J.  My sister went with me for moral support which was great.   I got my first fill which was very interesting to say the least.  My sister described me as a dart board and the look on her face was priceless.  I got 3cc's put into my band and I can really feel the restriction, it's awesome.  I am down 44 pounds now and feel amazing.  I am wearing size 20 jeans which absolutley thrills me.  My face looks so different, people keep saying how big my eyes look.  Well they should my cheeks are not as fat and when I smile my eyes don't close now.  It's all good.    My next check up is March 31st. I can't wait to weigh in.  Isn't that funny, I would avoid a scale at all costs and now I can't wait to hop on one.  So funny how life is.  Well I will keep up the posting with every new change.  Best wishes in Bandland

5 weeks out and doing great

Jan 24, 2008

Ok, I had. my surgery and it went great, no hick ups at all.  I went to Dr. Tersigni for my first follow up appt. and I have lost a total of 28 pounds and my blood pressure had gone from 140/90 to 114/72.  I was thrilled and so was Nurse Robin.  She said I was doing an amazing job.  Went to my first support group last night and it went really well.  Very informative and a great group of people.  The monitor is a real whip cracker, she shuts down any talking amongst members when it's not their turn.  She said it was disrespectful, I agree.  Anyway that is the latest, all is good in my neighborhood.

7 Days to go, Yippie!!

Dec 07, 2007

Ok I am so excited I can hardly stand it.  I have been on my liquid diet for one week and have not been hungry or cranky at all.  I refuse to weigh myself, i'm going to leave that up to the calibrated scales at Dr. Tersigni's office in Coos Bay, Oregon.  Next friday, Dec. 14th is the big day and I cannot wait.  I'm just wondering how I will feel afterwards, I guess I will be finding out.  I do admit I am nervous, it's a monumental step in recovering my health from the brink of disaster and I know it is well worth it.  I don't really have any other health problems other than Obesity and sleep apnea but those seem to be enough, in my opinion.  I have a friend that had the lap band done 1.5 years ago and has lost over 100 pounds, she looks and feels (not that i have felt her) great.  Well I guess that is all for now, almost time to go home from work.  It's been a long week.
