So, I went to the doctor today and I am down 21 lbs since surgery less than 3 weeks ago!  I can start working out, cardio at least!  Been back to work for a week and it was a long one.  I was so tired when I got home everyday!  Looking forward to my weekend off next weekend!  Doctor was glad to see things were going well for me.  I get to eat solid protiens now, no more mushing them up.  Just have to remember to chew chew chew!!!!!  That is about it for now!!!!

Happy Birthday George Washington!!  Sorry, just looked at the calendar to see what the date was!  I found out today I get to go back to work Monday!  Of course I have restrtictions until the doctor sees me on 3/3, but I am AOK with that!  I have been so bored at home, going back to work is exciting for me!  Never thought I would say that, naw i love my job!  So, until something else exciting happens that is enough for now!

Went to the doctor for my first follow up appointment today.  Got my tube out and all of my staples!  Get to start pureed foods tomorrow and my vitamins.  Lost 7 lbs since surgery and well on my way to success.  Way I am on the Loser's bench!  Never thought I would want to be a loser, but I am proud to say I am one now.  

The puppy came home today too.  He was excited to see me!  Getting used to sleeping in the bathroom so he doesn't jump all over me in the middle of the night, that could be painfull!  He had a fun time at the sitters though.  

Also, got to come home to my own house and get some grocery shopping done!

Another appt in 2 weeks.

My sister and her family are big NASCAR fans, so they were having a party for the Daytona 500.  I was welcome to stay or else go somewhere else.  I chose to stay, I needed some people interaction.  Plus, it was also like a b-day party for my sister.  

It was a fun day!  We wll drew names from a jar of 3 racers to cheer for and the winner won a t-shirt!  I was the winner!  I had never heard of Ryan Newman, but he made me a winner.  The shirt was a size M, and at first my sister told me i could trade it at the store for a larger size, but I said no, I will be able to wear this soon enough!!! 

I actually left the house today to go out in public!  I didn't look the best, but I needed to get out!

A friend picked me up to go and get my hair washed, it was so nice and it made me feel so much better, a whole new me!

The I went to a luncheon at work for a benefit we were having,  It was nice to see people and to be out of the house.  

I went back to my sisters and stayed in the rest of the night, that was enough fun for one day!  I was bored enough though I did a few dishes that were in the sink.  Never thought I would say that!!!

I got to leave the hospital on the 14th, they were ready to let me go whenever I was ready!  Since the roomie had the flu, I went to my sister's house, her family was nice enough to take me in!  So, I left the hospital that afternoon in the middle of a snow storm.  

After stoping to get my pain meds, we went to thier home.  It was a rough night, especially since I wasn't in  a hospital bed to help me with getting up!  But, I made it.  The worst part of the night was when I woke up around 4 am and it had been about 7 hours since pain med.  AND the pain meds were all the way in the kitchen, trying to get up, not make a lot of noise, and get to the kitchen took a lot of ambition!  But, I made it!

I got up around 7 am and went down for my swallow test, yummy citrus drink, BLECH!!!!  

Phone started ringing that morning and went all day as well!!  It was nice to hear from people and they understood when I wanted to keep it short. 

Got my first visitor around 11, my roomie brought me balloons, he was getting the flu so just dropped them off and left, after he made me eat at least a little broth and jello!  

My friend Kip showed up to visit too, it was nice to see people, I never promised them i would look pretty!  The important things I told people who wanted to visit was I couldn't promise I would be up for visitors but they were welcome to stop by, I think they really got me motivated.  It gives you a reason to get out of bed and take your walks.  

Cathiter came out- that was the best thing to happen medically that day, i hated that thing!  All the checks with the doctors went well, blood pressure was a little high for the first time in my life, but it went down the next time.

Throughout the afternoon Whitney, my sisters and niece and nephews, David and Kara, Jay and Chad and Ryan, all came to see me.  Thanks all for the beautiful flowers!!!  

They all were rewarded with a walk except David and Kara, I was a half hour overdue on my pain meds I was waiting for!!!  Otherwise I took about 6 walks that day and then 2 overnight because I couldn't sleep well that night..  Too much in bed all day, and then tied down with the footpumps at night, just wanted to be up and moving.    

I was really nervous on February 12th!!!  I got to the hospital at 10 am like the doctor's said to and waited and waited, I wasn't scheduled until 3 pm.  Thank goodness my roomate could wait with me while the drips started right until they took me for surgery.  He brought the laptop and we watched movies.  I did not go into surgery until 6pm!!!  3 hours later than I was scheduled, it was a long long day!  

Out of surgery at 9:30 pm and I remember seeing my roomate for just a few minutes.  He told me the surgeon said it went fantastic, he called my list of people I had left him, and back to sleep I went for a few minutes.

I told him he could go home and get some rest and they had me up by 10:30 that night for my first walk!
