Here I am again...
Apr 10, 2011
It is about 4 1/2 years since my Lap-Band surgery and in total I have kept off about 50 pounds. That is mostly my fault. I know I didn't stick to the lifestyle changes the way I should have.I'm at 225 now and with the assistance of the Vertical Sleeve (assuming my insurance approves) I will lose 100 pounds. That will be below what I chose as a goal for the Lap-Band.
I'm going to get back into my size 12s. I'm going to become more physically active and I'm going to be more careful with what I eat.
I know that the majority of my eating is done when I am feeling bored. Eating is just something that I do to occupy my hands while I read usually.
My first lifestyle change is to take up a hobby that requires two hands but will still let me read. I have chosen cross-stitching. My aunt showed me how to do this a while back. I enjoyed it but didn't keep it up because it was too hard to hold a book and cross-stitch at the same time.
Now I have a Kindle. So it is possible to do both at the same time. Instead of grabbing some chips or something while reading, I will work on a cross-stitch instead.
