WOW...Time flies! 1 year, 2 months, and 1 day to be exact!

Mar 26, 2012

I have fell off of my meeting attendances, and posting on my OH page, and it is time for me to get back into the swing of things before I get back to some old habits that I know are horrible for me.  Im just about over the honeymoon phase...I am hungry again! lol....I am down 131;bs since I began my weight loss journey....315lbs at my highest, and now 158lbs at my lowest since Lord knows!  My father also had WLS on 12/27/2011 by Dr. Sandor....he is down a little ove 100lbs since his journey began, and I am so proud of him!  We need to stick together and make sure we follow thru with this new lifestyle.  I have never felt physically better IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.  I tubed down the Pemi River like a champ over the summer, something that always sounded fun, but I never would have done...a pain in the butt hassel....it was soooo much fun!  I went from a 25 minute mile on the treadmill at the very beginning to a comfotible 12-14 min one....not as fast as some others, but I feel good while I do it.  I was in the gym 5 days a week for several months at a time...and this cold weather has put me in another lull.  Back to the grind ASAP!  No excuses....quitting smoking again on April 2nd, got the patch ready to go..  I feel like I work best when Im whole-heart commited, and Im doing this.  Maintaining this ammazing, comfortable, sexy lifestyle from here on out!

Almost 4 weeks out...

Feb 19, 2011

Just about 4 weeks out and down 30lbs!  Im feeling good and looking good and I love it.  The surgery itself went splendidly...  I cannot complain about the pain since I didn't have much at all.  I really hadn't had access to my computer lately to update my journey, but its going great.  I'm loving an egg, cottage cheese, greek yogurt (kinda hehe), or definitely peanut butter and banana cracker sandwiches on occasion.  And certainly have not gotten enough protein so far.  I'm sick of shakes!!  But I will keep trying new stuff (as approved by the doc and my nutritionist) and try to get as close to completing my 70g of protein goal daily.
I love my flintstone gummy vitamins, and my prescription of pepcid is a life saver especially now that I'm eating some things!  I really hope to keep up with my blog as I know it keeps me more aware of myself and accountable!  But for now, I must go...and I will be back for more later!

Last meeting w/ Dr. Sandor before surgery...hopefully =)

Jan 03, 2011

I'm almost there...after a dissapointing apointment cancellation last week due to the snow storm, I have an appointment tomorrow morning- and hopefully in time to get everything approved and in line by the orignal January 25th surgery date.  I am down to 269lbs....so 20lbs less than when I began in October (atleast 5 lbs gained from quitting smoking cigarettes to bring me to 289).  I'm looking forward to sharing my own experience.  I have read a lot of facebook/OH posts from friends of mine who have had the surgery and they vary so much...  I hope to have the strength and courage to get thru the rest of the pre-surgery process, and handle the post surgery process in the same way!  I think it has a lot to do with being strong mentally, and knowing that it will all be worth it in the end....I want 10 extra years of life...and to be healthy enough to have kids someday and live life to the fullest with them, as they deserve.  I want to feel better about myself (and I'm not just talking looks- I mean being able to breath lol) and Dammit I DESERVE it!  So here I go folks...I will be strong and lead so that others after me will also have the strength (and knowledge from Mine and others experiences) to make the decision to LIVE.

Yay!! 4 Dr's Appointments in the next week!

Oct 20, 2010

I know it sounds silly to excited about having to see so many doctors in a little time!  Got my appointment with my Nutritionist, Psycologist, Cardiologist and a quick PCP visit....  It's all happening FAST!  I just started with the info session on the Sept. 29....First meeting with Dr. Sandor on Oct. 12 and am about to get most of the medical clearance required done within the next week.  I'm so excited to be starting the journey, and so thankful that my best friend is going through the same situation...Love ya Robin!!  I'm on your coat tails girlie and we are gonna get this done (and I'm going to be my regular pain in the ass self)!  The best part of it all is that my hours at work change in the fall so I have to switch my insurance to mall health...but I'm getting the appointments done before they shut off of my Neighborhood Health hence avoiding a bit of the referral process!  Woo!  Its a good day!
Been walking every day consistently for the last week, and started the BariatrX shakes as my breakfast or lunch over the past few days.  I'm committed....and pat myself on the back every time I avoid a $1 double cheeseburger at McD's...those bastards.
