Anything you wish you had known before surgery?

I am in the process of getting my head wrapped around my surgery.  Is there anything you wish you had know before your procedure? What about experiences after?  Helpful hints?  I would appreciate any advice you may have to help me along my journey. Thanks!  You guys ROCK!!!
