7 months out....

Jan 04, 2009

So here I am 7 months out and still loving my band!! My weight loss is at a stand still. I weight 180 and have not moved. I did not get a fill at my Dec appointment, in fact I maybe getting an unfill on Jan 12th. I started getting a funny feeling below my left shoulder blade. I was told to slow down and chew really well and see if it goes away. Well it has not. In fact I sometimes now feel like I am getting a pain in the middle of my chest where I think my band is!! So I am pretty sure that he will take out 1cc as that's the comment that was made at my last appointment. That leaves my 1cc in my band and that scares me!!! I pray that I don't start feeling hungry again. I do have to admit that I don't exercise and my band has done all the work so far. I must know get moving and work off the last 10-15 pounds. I know I can.....

6 months out, wow!!

Dec 04, 2008

Boy does time fly. 6 month's ago I would have only dreamed of this life!!

I never thought that I would have 15 pounds to lose! Although my weight loss has slowed down, I am still losing, I really can't complain. The last 2 months I have notice the slow down. I am down about 5.5 pounds down this  month. I eat everything except bread. I have had the odd hot chocolate and the occasional dessert. Life doesn't stop!!  I am still thinking of 170 as my gaol, I guess I will have to wait and see where the next 15 come off of!!

I still have the throat issue but I don't notice it as much,  I am learning to live with it. I will see my DR. on Dec 15. I am wondering if he will give me a small fill as I am still only 2cc in a 10 cc band. But I don't want to have any problems so I feel conflicted. After my one and only fill I lost 7 pounds in 7 days. I sure would not mind that boost again. I will post my pictures again, for some reason they are not uploading.

5 months out

Nov 05, 2008

Well, here I am 5 months out. My weight loss has slowed down but not stopped, Thank God!! I will post a few new pictures in the next day or so.

I am 190.4 pounds today, that is almost 10 pounds in a month.I am 20 pounds away from my first weight loss goal of 170. I think that is were I want to be. But I may change my mind once there.

In regards to my throat issues:All my tests have come back fine. God only knows what is going on with my throat since they can find nothing. I guess I will hope it goes away one day or I will live with it!

I still have 2cc in a 10cc band. I go back to the surgeon on Dec 15th. So maybe he will fill me then. But not if I am losing weight.

We are off to Florida from November 12-26th and I am hoping that all the walking I will be doing will help me drop about 10 pounds. Time will tell. My DH said I cant bring the scale! I guess I will step on one at the walmart when I am shopping...lol....

No fill for me!

Sep 26, 2008

I went to my surgeon on Monday and was scheduled for my second fill. I was surprised when he refused me a fill. He said that since I was losing weight at this rate he did not feel I needed one. I will admit I begged for 1/2 a cc. But he stood firm. So I still have 2cc in a 10cc band and really feel like the 2cc did nothing for me. I could have not even had a fill. The weight is still flying off, I hope it keeps up.I am 30 pounds from what I believe is my goal. But we all know how goals change!!

Throat issues

Sep 26, 2008

As some of you may remeber I have a lump in my throat since  after surgery. The lump  does not make it hard to eat, drink or swallow. It is just annoying. I have had  a Thyroid ultrasound, blood work and today the dreaded barium Swallow w/ follow thru. Man, did that suck!! I could not drink all the barium and thought I was going to vomit. I was soooo full I could not get another ounce in me. They managed to finish the test with what I had already drank. I go back to the surgeon on Oct 6 for results.

I decided today that I better start documenting this fabulous journey I am on. One June 3/08 I was banded and life has only gotten better as everyday goes by. I have had no problems with the band or with eating any type of food.I do not eat bread or rice. I do not drink pop. If i start to eat something and I don't think it is worth eating I spit it out. I am no angel, I have eaten cookie, a chocolate bar and have had a few ice creams! I have had 1 fill of 2cc and found restriction.( for a few days) I will be having another fill on September 22/08.

I have been feeling like their is something stuck in my throat since about 1 month out of surgery. I mentioned it at my fill and was told if I still felt the same at my next appointment they would give me something for acid flex. I knew this was not the problem but left it alone. The feeling is so annoying. I went to my GP who gave me something for acid reflex. I took it for 7 days with no change to my throat. I am now scheduled to go for a ultra sound on my thyroid and an xray of my throat on  Sept 23/08.  My GP said it could be damage from the breathing tube and will heal on it's own. I will bring it up to the surgeon again on the 22 and let him know what I have done and am doing. Hopefully this will get cleared up soon.

Hockey tryouts have started and I am the talk of the arena, in a good way. One of my Friends heard a few moms talking about me saying that they did not even recognize me and I was looking do good.I have lost 60 pounds since these people last seen me. That sure helps you feel good mentally.

I find it funny that people are also shy to comment on your weight loss. I did have a mother tell me that I was looking really good, not that I didn't before. I thanked her for the complement and told her that I new I didn't look good before and new I was heavy that's why I had lost weight. People almost seem relieved when you say that. Do they not think we know we are fat????

I will post after my next fill.
