I grew up here in Hawaii and being of Polynesian/Mix (Hawaiian, Chinese, Irish, Scottish, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Spanish) descent my weight has always been an issue for me.  My journey with weight issues began as far as I can remember since the age of 10.   I grew up being not only obese but also tall so in Hawaii that is a pretty awkward combo to say the least.
I was diagnosed with Diabetes type 2 and high blood pressure back in 1997 and have been bad ever since.  I would fluctuate up and down in losing and gaining--  bad health to be honest.  I tried and failed and it was getting me nowhere and I found myself frustrated fast almost on the verge of giving up.

Now at the age of 33 and reinventing and re-discovering myself I am more so determined to lose weight for myself and for my family.  Both my parents died young, at the age of 48, due to some kind of heart disease-- and a doctor told me once, 'you know that only means you have a short life expectancy plan as well right?'  HELL NO I SAY!!

I WILL make this journey and do it!!  My Christian upbringing taught me to trust in the Lord and all things are possible and with this...I am trusting in Him to give me the strength, the ability and know-how as well as the determination and endurance to go on this trek!  My brother and sister and my friends all support my decision and hopefully I get to have this done!  I also have my own Angel out there who has given me the inspiration and the knowledge to do it-- thanks tons Mom!!  <3 you!!
