HELLO ALL,

I am doing fine. God recently delivered me from a job that was draining me spiritually and emotionally. The people at the job were really trying to do it, but I decided that I would not allow myself to be taken advantage of. So I prayed for deliverance from it. It took 2 years but God came right on time.

I am still stuck at my weight 225-230. 2 reasons...I think one is mechanical. The food goes down to fast too me. It has always done that from the beginning but I didn't advocate for myself with my surgeon. I will advocate come my 2 year anniversary appt. By then I will have better insurance and it will give me the time to continue to aggressively attack my bad habits that I re-learned to substain my pregnancy. I know that the other reason is low water intake and not consistently exercising which will be resolved soon. When I start the new job, I will have my good friend to be my workout buddy. Working out with a good friend is best for me. We motivate each other. My goal is to lose 60 pounds by October 1, 2009.

My baby girl is 4 months now. She is giggling and a flirt. She smiles at everyone.

Hello everyone,

I had a beautiful baby girl on 1-17-09 after a whole night of laboring and an emergency C-section the next morning. I went almost 2 weeks over due, because I think the doctor was off on the date from the beginning. I had no complications until the end. My water became very low. I think my body was dehydrated and it absorbed the water in the sac right at the end. That's why the doctors decided to induce me..otherwise they would of let me stay pregnant another week. I was ready ..believe me. I wanted a healthy baby and my body back. I only gained about 10 pounds. I started at 243 and ended at 253.

I first lost 10 pounds in the first month though. After giving birth I went to 225 and now I am 230 because I haven't started eating like I should. I've given myself 2 months to adjust to motherhood and then I will start back aggressively attacking my eating habits and exercise. I want to lose 10 pounds a month until November of this year..which will be 2 years post op. My goal from the beginning was to lose enough to get to a size 12, lower my bp, and eliminate diabetes from my health. I've lowered my bp and eliminated diabetes so far...so a size 12 is calling my name.

I was able for the first time ever to buy a size 16 dress from JCpenny in the misses. I almost flipped out. So, I am not pressuring myself..just going with the flow and listening to my body.

I will at 2 years post op ask my doctor to do an upper GI to make sure everything is ok. Hopefully, by then I will have better insurance to cover everything..because I didn't realize how much I would be responsible for once insurance kicked in for the surgery.

I am falling more in love with my daughter everyday!! That's it for now.

August 27, 2008. Almost 10 months post op!!..

I have lost my goal of 100 pounds in 1 year. I am a size 17-18...but since I am pregnant I have to wear maternity paints to feel comfy over my growing belly. I weigh 232 from 333. My heighest weight was 343. The baby and I are healthy and fine so far. Prayer works!!

I will be 5 months August 28, 2008. I found out is a baby girl. I am not diabetic. I am not considered high risk by my OB yet, but my surgeon thinks I am. I had a little scare with the genetic defect screenings but an aminiocentencis results showed no abnormalities and that I am having a little girl.

I am half way through the pregnancy. I am finally at a stage where I can enjoy my first pregnancy.

To the newbies out there!! Be careful.. you get very fertile after surgery...lol...I was in denial that I couldn't get pregnant.

I will post new pics soon. My body is still trying to lose weight. I still eat my protein and veggies...take the vitamins but I have to cheat and drink water with meals to push the extra nutrients in. I still do not eat the fried and fast foods. I do sneak in a little cake without sugar. And I do sneak in a little crunchy chips but thats maybe once a month, because my body tells me quick I cant have it!!

I am loving the fresh fruit and veggies. I still have no regrets. Once I have my baby, I will continue on with my regimine to lose 50 pounds. I want to be 180 or 170. I was enjoying going to the gym and the workouts.. that has given me the confidence to keep it in my new life style. Thats it for now.

5 months and 13 days post op. I have been at a plateu for about 3 weeks. I weigh 250. I have to increase the exercise and be more vigilant on food intake. BUT I have a situation. It seems, that I have had too too much fun "dating" and now I am pregnant.

My surgeon is going to flip. I found out on mothers day and confirmed with doctor today. I am an adult and can handle this situation. I just want a healthy baby. I have scheduled to see my OB soon. Once, they do the ultrasound and see how healthy I and the baby are...I will contact my surgeons office. I feel I will carry a healthy baby since..I can eat pretty well..and my restrictions are not as intense as they are for most with this surgery. My lab works so far have been great.

I will pray on it and take medical advice to heart. You all pray for me too!!!

I am now 4 months and about 16 days post op. I feel great. I am working out regularly...taking my vitamins....I am currently 257 pounds. My goal for June 16 is to lose 40 pounds from 268 from my last post op appointment. Its happening slowly but surely.

I have been at a stand still for like 2 weeks. I got to get back on track with my eating. My goal is to eat slower and concentrate on the protein and water. I also got to find good fiber supplement.

I have been having sooooooo much fun. I am getting my groove started..lol...I am dating and enjoying life at 25 years old.

I am a little dissapointed today. I came in second place for the this gym biggest loser contest. I lost the most weight but somehow the average of inches came in short to the winner. I still dont understand.

I will still continue to work out though. I will get over it.

Thats it for now.

2 months and 11 days post op. I am feeling great. I currently lost  around 50 pounds. I weigh 278 from 330. I am enjoying every step and milestone. I am in the moment of each weigh in.

People are now noticing a change in my body. I have recieved some compliments, but I am not letting that get to my head. I still have a long ways to go. I am blessed.

I do work out, but not routinely. I do see a trainer once a week...and try to do areobics 3 times a week and toning 2 times a week. I have to find something more interesting to do for areobics. It is extremely boring to me, but I love the weight lifting.

I am a little disappointed in not having more aggressive restrictions of my tool. I haven't thrown up yet. I don't feel the full sensation that triggers your brain to tell u to stop. I have taken more responsibility on this. I portion out my meals...and make myself stop when it seems that I know I shouldn't be able to eat the amount.

I called my surgeon's office to voice my concern. The nurse basically said to increase my food intake to see if i feel full since i am close to 3 months. I wasnt happy to hear this. LOL...I am paranoid that the surgery will not work for me...and/or I will not work for the surgery. But I decided, I am going to work with this blessing in disguise.

I will have the doc to take a look inside to make sure I do not have a fistula or something. To be on the safe side. This appointment will be on 3-11-08.

I still find this website so inspiring. I visit about each day.

I will be posting new pics soon.

FEELING GREAT. IM DOING GREAT. I AM GAINING MORE ENERGY EVERYDAY. I HAVE TOLERATED SOFT FOODS AND FISH SO FAR. NEXT WEEK, I WILL TRY CHICKEN.

I AM CONCERNED THAT I HAVEN'T FELT FULL YET. I DON'T WANT TO HURT MYSELF AND EAT TOO MUCH. I AM NOT FULLY A MONTH POST OP.

NOW I WILL GET TIRED OF CHEWING AND JUST STOP EATING. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE ABOUT THIS.

I FIND MYSELF WANTING TO SNACK ON VEGGIES OR CITRUS. IM CRAVING CUCUMBERS AND ORANGES.

I WILL POST MY BEFORE PICS AND STAY AT THE HOSPITAL SOON.

1 week and 2 days post op. Well I am feeling ok. I stopped taking pain medicine on Monday. I only take it if I over do it during the day. I was feeling a little depressed after the surgery, because I was thinking about all of the foods I would miss and how easier it was to not take control of what you eat and be conscious and responsible of what you put in your mouth.

But then I had a talk with God. At the end of the conversation...I decided THAT HE IS MY SOURCE OF STRENGTH. THAT I LOVE ME MORE THAN DIABETES...THAT I LOVE ME MORE THAN FRIED FOOD, THAT I LOVE ME MORE THAN ICE CREAM....

I am healing fast. I am having problems with this liquid diet as always. Tommorow, Im going to buy some tastless protein powder to add to soft foods. My doctor told me to stop taking the insulin shots, thank God. I will take the liquid form of metformin for 2 months or until I get my sugar level in the 90s. I am taking blood thinner shots for another week.

Did anyone see the Oprah show today. She talked about transfering habits after weight loss surgery. Is anyone concerned about this or is going through this now?

God Bless

Thank you God!! Day after release from hospital.Surgery went very well. I didn't sleep the night before. I was excited and nervous.I arrived 15 mins late due to parking, but I was seen on time. I went through all of the prep process. They gave me some oxygen and then I was knocked out!!

When I got to my room, I felt like I was in a painful dream. It got better when they finally found a vein to put my IV in. Morphine is the bomb. The first day I was pretty much out of it. I went in and out of sleep. I moaned in my sleep.

The second day, I got up and walked 2 times. I felt a little dizzy. No hunger. Tricia stayed with me. She was a soldier. I don't think I could of made it through with as much dignity if I didn't have her. Unfortunetly she caught my cold, so now she has a cold. I wish I could go to take care of her. My blood sugar went through the roof due to shock from surgery. It was closely monitored. I was placed on blood thinners.

Day 3.Discharge was delayed due to low potassium.I had to also meet with the endocrinologist to receive discharge instructions to treat diabetes. I was placed on insulin and a liquid form of metaformin to gain control of my levels. He thinks it will take less than a month to do this. Its ironic that one of the main reasons I wanted the surgery was to not to get to this point. He said that my diabetes should of been taken care of much better than it was. He was right.

I went in on 11-28-07 at 330lbs. Today I weigh 325. I haven't had a regret moment yet. But that first day I did have the "What have I done" moment when I was in so much pain. But I went through it strong. I cant beleive I actually had the surgery, since I waited so long...lol...

I can't wait until the fun part!!

Scared. Did anyone have the surgery during a the recovery period of a cold? I feel much better than I did last week, but I do have a little nasal congestion and chest congestion. I went to the Urgent care to see if antibiotics would do anything. I dont think it will help since it fights bacteria and not viral infections. Viral infections cause colds not bacteria.

I have had worse colds and felt worse on days when my sugar level was high. I pray that the surgery doesn't get rescheduled because of this cold. I have my support person taking off of work to stay in the hospital with me. It will be hard for her to get off another time. I have taken my leave from work based on this date.

I am trying not to worry too much, but it is hard and frustrating to think that I got this far to be stopped by a cold.

But I will respect what the surgeon decides. I am asking for prayers from you all for this. I will continue to pray for you.
