I never in my wildest dreams thought it would happen to me. I thought I would be the one person who could not lose, even with RNY. My doctor assured me that my fears were irrational, but I did not really in my heart believe him. After all, this struggle has been my whole life. I have yo-yo'd for my whole life. I have lost hundreds of pounds, only to gain it back plus some. I have hypo-thyroidism, I have a sluggish metabolism, my body is used to the periods of deprivation and holds tightly to every ounce of fat.
I began this journey at 5'9", 314 pounds. I lost 28 pounds before the surgery, mainly due to the 2 week liquid only diet...
I had my surgery in December. This morning, the scale told me that I have made it to 199!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am astounded! I am grateful. I am shocked, and thrilled, and speechless. I cannot believe that I have achieved this much weight loss in 6 months.
I am so very grateful for all of the support that is available here and in my support group and from my doctor. I have 29 to lose to get to my goal, and now I actually believe that I will do it!
