I visited with Queens comprehensive weight management a month ago. At that check up I weighed in at 257 & 49% body fat. I am almost 6 years post opp and I'm still working on my health.
cutting down on sugar
May 27, 2014
I made a jello cake the other day. it was loaded with sugar and fat. it was a trifle with peaches and whipped cream. i ate some and felt really really sick. feverish and sick. it's been so long since I've actually paid attention to the way my body reacts to certain foods. Sugar makes me S.I.C.K. and I don't like feeling that way. So my trifle went down the garbage disposal. the entire trifle. since then, i went through my cupboards looking for sugary things. i collected them, stuck them in a box and put them outside of my apartment door with a "FREE" sign on it. i was worried that they would still be there in the morning, but hey.... someone took the entire box. I'm not saying that I wont eat any sugar, but I am cutting down on it. I really don't like feeling as sick as I do when I eat it. and I don't need to have it staring at me every time I open my cupboards or fridge.
6 years and some
May 26, 2014
Hey there people. So I've had my ups and downs post op. Lost a heck a lot of weight, found cancer cells in my abs, fell totally off of my diet while on Chemo. Gained about 50 pounds back and now I have been steady at around 250 for a few years. My diet is still crap and I really want to change that. I am looking for inspiration and motivation. I'm happy with how much more things I can do now, but I know there is so much more life for me to enjoy and I want it. I really really want it! my hair is very thin. the actual size of my strands are about 1/3 finer then they used to be. and that is a challenge for me. my nails are also different. they are thinner and my bones and joints feel older. anywho, i will be back here more often to check in, read articles and get back on the wagon.
