met w/Dr Barker
Sep 01, 2009
I met with my 3rd Surgeon, Dr Barker.....I want to start with the support staff...from the nurses, nutritionist, Dr Thompson...were all great, and very informative. I felt they all took their time, didn't have a rushed feeling or that they were rushing from me to get to the next. They all asked me questions, I absolutely was impressed with Dr. Barker...his confidence but not arrogant..he listened, asked historical questions, asked thoughtful questions. From feedback I received from one of my best friends that used him last year, and people on this board...and MOST importantly...I feel that if I had surgery with him,,,i would finally be able to relax and put trust in him. I thought Dr Thompson would be a great Dr to follow up on post ops appts. great sense of humor and caring, spent alot of time talking and educating...loved the benefit coordinators also, Very nice relaxed office. I will move forward Dr B, he is all I have heard he is...and I purposefully saved for my last consultation ! I have now spent $120 on visiting offices, I have can rest with my decision now. Not sure If I want to have this before or after the upcoming holiday..TBD.
*fyi--i like Dr Davidson and his staff as well, just worried he may retire in the next 5-7 years,,

Aug 08, 2009
Hello...
So I started out with just a couple of DRS i wanted hear opinions on, after researching all day,....I have a few more and love to hear and feedback on them ....the statements below have been determined after hours of reading posts to their websites by patients going back all the way to 2001 in some cases, and their websites. IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO ADD TO THE BELOW INFO PLEASE LET ME KNOW...just trying to see who I want to consult with for my Revision.
Dr Alexander: great reviews from all, good bedside, explains risks clearly, good staff, GREAT Revisionist...appears out of all that have their surgery stats posted to have the MOST revisions....***NOTE I AM HAVING A REVISION FROM A OLD VGB 99*
~~~if there is any DR on here that you have heard has a high mortality rate or complication rate, PLEASE ADVISE, send a email if you like~~~~ THANKS EVERYONE !
OK, your opinions as youve heard it from others youve know, first hand experiences
Thanks,
Loren
