I am 3 weeks away from surgery, Sleeve Gastrectomy. This has been along road going up and down with my weight and finally landing the right job with the benefits that would allow me to have surgery. This was something I had contemplated for the past 4-5 years doing research on the Bypass and I was very nervous. I also did research on the Lap Band as well but I knew that I didn't want that and I was still a little afraid of the Bypass.
Thank GOD I got the job I have because it landed me in the Bariatric Center and there I learned more about the Bypass as well as the Lap Band. There I saw patients who had the surgery and they all looked Great and I knew at that point I had to really get serious and just do it. There I also learned about the newest procedure the Sleeve Gastrectomy which I have chosen. After I spoke with my doctor, Peter Liao,M.D., I knew he was the surgeon for me and I knew the Sleeve was my surgery of choice.
I know that this is a life altering decision but I know with the help of GOD, my family, coworker and friends I can DO IT!! I have Faith that everything will turn out ok and I am very excited! I am so grateful to have a support system and I know I am in good hands.
I am very excited to see my stages of change and how I will look! I can't wait to buy new clothes and get a makeover! I am at a point in my life where I want to be HEALTHY and live a Happy Healthy life sytle. I am READY FOR THE CHANGE!!
