I began having weight issues in my late teens. After becoming a newlywed in 1984, my weight continued to be a problem for me although my husband never complained but said that "There was more to love." Had our daughter in 1986 and saw the weight refuse to leave. Became pregnant 5 more times (3 ending in miscarriage) my weight never really left. It just got worse.
Tried numerous "diets" and weight-loss "programs" but "fell off the wagon" so often, it hurt! I gave up.Began thinking about gastric bypass surgery and doing the research just a few years ago after developing diabetes, high blood pressure and several other health problems. I was "sick and tired of being sick and tired" and finally determined to do something about it! Started the ball rolling with another doctor but was turned off by his overall manner and that of his staff. Then, after seeing an article about Dr. Loggins in our local paper, I decided to give it another try.
My first appointment with him and his staff was in February of this year and, liking what I saw and heard, I was ready to make the commitment. Getting all the pre-surgery testing done and losing the "required 10%" brought me to the month of June. Yes, I was THAT determined to do it this time. The call came from Dr. Loggin's office that all was set with the insurance and the date was set for the end of July. (I could have had it done on July 2ed but had already committed to a musical production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL that was due to be preformed at the end of the month. I therefore had the surgery the day after the show closed...on July 30th!
As of today, 9/30/ 07 I am exactly two months post-op and feeling great! I've lost a total of 62 pounds total so far and have a little over 50 pounds to go. I'm getting my life back!
