5+ years out

Apr 06, 2014

Its been over 5 years now and I am still maintaining my goal weight of 135 and having no issues.  I hope all stays the same, but this process has been easy for me.  I am fortunate not to struggle with food issues. I don't eat sugary things, but otherwise eat a wide variety of things, just in smaller amounts. No mental struggles etc. Life is good.

I sure have been lazy at doing any updates here. Not because I don't care, I just really have been busy and life is kind stressed.  I feel wonderful.....can't even put into words how great I feel actually. Some days my kids tell me to slow down. How crazy is that? I am having major issues going from a person in a morbidly obese body to someone that is normal. I think the biggest problem is when I go out and I get hit on, I don't know what to think/how to act/what to say...ugh. Then the bad marriage issues....makes life so complicated most days.
Anyway...don't want to be a total downer. I FEEL AMAZING. I am so glad I was able to have this surgery.
I am down 145 since seminar and 120 since surgery. A size 26 to an 8 so far. But most important, I feel like I have a great healthy life.

10 months

10 months out...feeling wonderful and having no issues. I have been having some medical issues, but they don't believe it's WLS related. I am having a biopsy on the 2nd to figure out what the lump/mass is in my lower abdomen. The ultrasound showed nothing on the ovaries or uterus. It's a little higher and not on an organ..seems to be in the muscle or fatty tissue.

10 months out finds me...134 down from seminar and 109 from day of surgery.

6 months post op today

Feb 18, 2009

6 months have gone by so quickly!  It really seems like just last month I was leaving the hospital to start this journey! I have had no issues and count my blessings for that. I have my checkup tomorrow, so hopefully my lab work will be fine. I don't have any issues with food, but am pretty positive if I did eat sugar, I'd dump. I am grateful for that. It keeps me on track! Last month was a slower weight loss month for me..about 7 lbs. I bought some whole wheat crackers and found myself kind of hungry throughout the day and was kind of grazing on them. I think it made me hungrier! So..no more crackers and I am not hungry and the weight loss has started to pick up again. Down about 4 this week!  I really want to get as close to my goal by 9  months as possible. I believe that is the time the Dr said was my best opportunity for weight loss.  I have 45 pounds til my goal. To some, that might sound like a huge amount, but for me..I am getting so close! * smile*

Happy New Year!

Dec 31, 2008

My big goal I had made for myself was that I would be under 200 by New Years. I came 10 pounds short of that. But..it's really okay. So glad I can easily say.... it's fine and I will get there before I know it.  Before I would have been so disappointed in myself.
So within the month, I hope to be a century card carrying member and in onderland. How exciting that will be.

 Happy New Year!

The past month has gone smoothly--nothing to complain about at all. The scale was stuck for about 3 weeks, but finally moving again.
Down  55 since surgery August 19th. 80 total since seminar.

Okay..the scale is lucky ( like it's the scales fault lol )
Down that one pound I needed to be at -40 at my 2 month surgery anniversary today. Add on the 26 I lost pre op. for a grand total of -66.
I find it very odd that 2 and 1/2 years ago, at nearly the same weight I am now, I looked so much thinner.  I was just 8 pounds thinner in the photo below than I am now...but I look so much thinner. I wore a loose size 18 and now can barely get an 18 on, have the huge muffin top.  * UGH*
Guess I should stop complaining and worry about the task at hand.
