I'm Lindsay, 22, and I live in Baton Rouge, LA. Like most people living here in Louisiana with all this amazing food around every corner (literally) I've struggled with weight since.... well, birth. WLS is something that I've known and learned about for a while, but for one reason or another I never really considered it an option or something I could ever do. I guess I just never knew enough about it to really think that it was something attainable and something that was safe and common. My insurance, Aetna, is paying 80% of the cost of the surgery which is absolutely amazing. Of course, it has been pointed out to me on several occasions that on one hand it should be depressing that I'm fat enough for insurance to pay for it haha! But I don't see it that way at all! I am so excited and ready for my bypass! My surgery date is 01-14-2010!! I will be having my RNY done at Ochsner in New Orleans and my surgeon is Dr. James Wooldridge.
But, besides all that: I am a student currently working on my Bachelor's in Business Administration and I hope to be done with school and have my MBA by the time I'm 28. I want to work for a nonprofit organization, fundraising for children's hospitals or something of the like.
