Hi There, My name is Lisa and I am a 37 yr old Divorce from Cape Cod Massachusetts. I do not have any children but have a wonderful Jack Russell named Tess! :)
My Story- Well...
I have been struggling all my life with some kind of weight issue. I grew up as a pudgy kid, I was in a size 5/6 already by the age of 11 yrs old. I suffered through High School with the yoyo dieting and starvation... Then my early adult years... put up with a man that tried to controll my eating habbits for almost 10 years with the mental abuse (name calling, public humilaty, ignorance). My shell was hard as a rock but I was devistaed and screaming inside!
Then came my late 20's Ahhh, SINGLE again! I had discovered dating on the internet and had found a world that I could belong too... The BBW scene. Men really liked big women! WOW. I ran with this and had a great time meeting new friends and men to date. This boosted my selfesteem and activity level, now looking back... all it was doing was allowing me to cop out on being healthy and really happy, just in a different way. I needed to get healthy.
So here I am 10 yrs later with lots of health issues. THIS is my reason for doing this surgery.
I have grown twice the size, lost myself along the way :( I battle pain inside and out everyday now, physically and mentally... with diabeties, depression, arthitis, asthma, high blood preasure, sleep apnea, shortness of breath and neuropathy. I'm ONLY 37 !!! 
Where I stand now-
I have been in the process since August of '07. I am taking my group classes with fellow patients, my Surgeon has sent in my referral to my insurance co., and I have had my preop work done.
I am STILL working on losing those damn 15 lbs and I can't! grrrrr. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear suggestions plsssss.
I am looking forward to my future and getting healthy again. Who cares about being a size 8/9! I want health. I want to go back to the things i enjoyed out of life the most.
Travel, Dating, Hobbies, Socializing, BREATHING and powerwalking! I pray everyday for this process to go smoothly. I am ready.
