I am so busy, I really need to make time for my blog!

Mar 11, 2009

I am weighing in at 169 lbs.. I bounce back and forth between 169-172 lbs. I am in a size 10 petite, and an 8 stretch! My tops are large, some even medium, I am wearing all the designer stuff I havent even concidered in the past.

Even my head has lost weight, my ball caps are too big! lol

Dr.s goal is 150lb give or take. Mine is around 125-130 lbs. I believe I will get there... the weather is improving, so more walks and activties, and lighter meals ( veggies, fruit, water). I can't wait to lay out in a bathing suit and not feel like a whale. Here I come Old Silver Beach :)

Wow.. since May?

Dec 26, 2008

Damn.. I can't believe I haven't updated in 7 months! So much has happend since surgery. I had some complications with an ulcer which lead to not being able to eat or even take in fluids. Due to that I a feeding tube was placed for nutrition. Then THAT caused issues... Over the next few months I developed a raging infection in my old pouch from the G-Tube, and developed an addiction to pain meds. Well.. the addiction is a whole other story really... I have had a problem with opiates for years.

So anyways SINCE then.. I have lost almost 100 lbs, my health has improved dramatically, and my inner self has bloomed again. I can't believe how good I feel finally being off pain meds nevermind the weight loss. My head is clear, my love life is on fire and my body is healthy.

Life is great

8 weeks out

May 28, 2008

Wow, alot has happend since I last blogged.

I spent 9 days in the hospital for severe abdomin pain, dehydration and vomitting. After many tests ( 2 G.I. Scopes, a Barium G.I. swallow and a Catscan) Dr found an ulcer and a small partial intestinenal obstruction. In other words, not a object block, but swelling. He wasnt sure why this was happening...
been home for 2-3 days ( no eating at all and very imited liquids), I diont feel better with pain meds or special meds to coat my insides so next is exploratory surgery. Thats tomorrow on my very 8 week anni. at noon time.

Down 48 lbs tho! lol

6 weeks out!

May 15, 2008

Although I have been having some small issues the last week or so... I had to see the Dr for some stomach irritation. So the last 9 days i have been on liquids. I havent been walking either... The arthitis has been really bothering me :( Dr gave me some pain medicine for that.

I'll have to come back and write some another time when I'm not at a friends house. At Cheryl's for a long weekend. We ar going out friday night with some other ladies... This should be intersting! lol :P

May 04, 2008

Everythin seems to be going great but my scale at home lol IT'S BROKEN! Better off, I'm becoming obsessed with it.

My goal before seeing Doc Streeter is getting into the 30's.
I am at 242 atm... and I have 2 weeks to do it. I havent been able to walk much. The weather has been so miserable and I injured my knee 5 days ago and was demanded to slow down. I have some arthritis in it and apearently I agitated it. I'll do some exercise on Demand.

Gas Gas Gas... I can't get rid of it! But it helps if I massage my tummy.

Signs of Dehydration

Apr 26, 2008

The Signs and Symptoms of Dehydration

Symptoms of dehydration usually begin with thirst and progress to more alarming manifestations as the need for water becomes more dire. The initial signs and symptoms of mild dehydration in adults appear when the body has lost about 2% of it's total fluid. These mild dehydration symptoms are often (but not limited to):

  • Thirst
  • Loss of Appetite
  • Dry Skin
  • Skin Flushing
  • Dark Colored Urine
  • Dry Mouth
  • Fatique or Weakness
  • Chills
  • Head Rushes

If the dehydration is allowed to continue unabated, when the total fluid loss reaches 5% the following effects of dehydrationare normally experienced:

  • Increased heart rate
  • Increased respiration
  • Decreased sweating
  • Decreased urination
  • Increased body temperature
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Muscle cramps
  • Headaches
  • Nausea
  • Tingling of the limbs

When the body reaches 10% fluid loss emergency help is needed IMMEDIATELY! 10% fluid loss and above is often fatal! Symptoms of severe dehydration include:

  • Vomiting
  • Racing pulse
  • Shriveled skin
  • Dim vision
  • Painful urination
  • Confusion
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Seizures
  • Chest and Abdominal pain
  • Unconciousness

Be aware that these are not the only symptoms of severe dehydration that may manifest in response to dehydration, these are simply the most common. Symptoms of dehydration will differ from person to person because the body is a complex network of systems and everyone's body is different. When these systems are disturbed due to loss of fluids there will be several common symptoms shared by most bodies, but there may also be unusual or unexpected responses depending on the particular person in question. Age also plays a part in the manifestation of symptoms. Signs of dehydration in a child will not be the same as those experienced by a teenager, adult or in the elderly. Dehydration prevention is the best treatment for every age group.

Just came back from the Dr.'s His scale said 247. Ok mines broken! :P

Being patient!

Apr 23, 2008

Ok, the scale hasn't moved alot, only 1 lb in the last 4 days( could it be that I drank a whole can of V-8 juice in one day? lmao) but that's ok! It's the measurements that have put a smile on my face this week, 3 weeks out :D

neck- 18
arm-17.5
breast-48
waist-46
hips-53
thigh-26
calf-16

I have gone up in measurements on my legs... and I'm believeing I am building muscle. I am power walking 2 miles a day now (wooohooo!! YAY ME) and feel everything "going upward" lol

I see the Dr today ( Dr DeMeo). I think I'll put on a nice pair of summer slacks and a pink shirt to show off my glow... I month of go, I would of had the nerve to leave my house in House clothes :O

Really pushing the fluids....

Sunny weather, good food, 7 more lbs ...oh my!

Apr 20, 2008

I can't believe the weight that's dropping off me. How rewarding for all the hard work I've done to change my life since August of '07.

I had my first ummmm, how do you say..*whispers* normal BM this morning lol! Sorry, it's has to be documented tho :P Pfft, you know what I'm talking about ;)

I have been walking to the Store everyday, and then walking in the oposite direction on rt28A down to Wind St and hanging a right and following that up. I tried some pilaties last night... Umm immediately my right knee gave out. I can feel they are still so weak from holding all this weight. I think I may call my Dr. and see if she will put my in physical therapy. The back I can strengthen on my own.

Another gorgeous day... going out to do more yard work. Enjoy yours!
