Hey all... Busy summer so far... just hanging out with the teens and spending some quality hours with my nephews. Working lots of overtime this summer too. I have been in a stall for about a month but otherwise I have doing quite well. My oldest son starts drivers training next week and that scares me a bunch. Trying to deal with that :) and the shock of thee jump in my car insurance. My dad also has to have stents put in his heart again next week. He has known for awhile it needed to be done but they finally got around to scheduling it. Also my younger brother was just diagnosed with a serious chronic health problem. That has been stressful too. Before RNY I would have just eaten myself into a tizzy. Now I have some healthier coping mechanisms. It just amazes me how often I used to turn to food.... not that an occasional slice of pizza doesn't sneek up on me :) But overall I think emotionally and physically things have really changed for the better. LOVE MY RNY!!

Life Goals Realized....sort of

On a happier note. I also have not weighed under 150 lbs since my daughter was born 13 years ago. Today that happened too.
I am taking my best friend in the whole wide world today to have her EGD before priority health with approve her for her surgery some time this summer. I wish for her to have all these gifts and many more. She deserves them more than anyone I know. HERE's to life goals and dreams come true. Thanks everyone for your support and kindness. OH Rocks!! CHEERS TO ALL!! (Clanking glasses of warm SF cocoa or coffee still to flipping early to think about anything else) LOVE YOU GUYS!!

6 Month Check Up

Can't believe it. I am losing slower than I would like. Todd reminded me today I have lost over 1/4 of my total body weight in 6 months. Kinda put things into perspective. Still loving my RNY and am greatful for the blessing and the gift it has been to me. I have resolved to be much more active and be more careful about the ready made diet dinners. They are usually low fat but are high in sodium and carbs which is disaster for me. I get hungry so quickly afterward. I have resolved to stop it and to eat more naturally--meat and veggies work best for me no breads or pasta. I am also a cracker junkie. I eat everything with a couple saltines. I have resolved to stop that too. Todd was wonderful as usual and supportive. MMPC has been so supportive through this whole journey. Feeling lucky today... Peace to all and happy thoughtsCat

Had to leave the hospital to receive medical attention??? Pretty F'd up I thought. I am on work restriction for now. I can sit down.... Not much I can do at work I don't think. I work in an intensive care unit at a hospital as an RN. So basically no patient care... CRUD!!! So, pain meds, air cast, and crutches are my friends for at least another week. I go to see them again the same day I go to see Todd at MMPC. I think I will go see Todd first. He is my fav. Peace!!Cat

Penney and I are going to NTI ( a huge nursing conference in Chicago) with 7 other RN's from our unit at work. Should be a blast. We are going the first week in May. Everyone says it is a mind blowing experience. Can't wait!!! It has been a good week. I am staying in the 150's and I am solidly into a size 8 pair of Levis and a large top. The girls are shrinking and looking pathetic

Finally this am after flopping back and forth 3 lbs for the last MONTH I have broken into the 150's. I had to make some diet adjustments and go back to basics. Meat and veggies only for awhile I think..... Peace to all

Squeezed my butt into a stretchy pair of size 8 jeans yesterday and bought a set of scrubs size M and could have bought S bottoms but they felt a little snug and would not have been too comfy to work in for 12 hrs. Never in my life had I been able to buy the same size top AND bottoms. LOVE my RNY!!!

I decided yesterday it would be a good idea to take both my 3 yrs old nephew and my 4 mos old nephew at the same time. I now know why I stopped having children when I did. ( My kids are 13,14,and 15 yrs old). I did not get a single thing done from the time I picked them up yesterday. My middle son and I did homework last night at 1030 pm because he needed my help and I was busy with the baby. No laundry, no cleaning, no sleep more importantly. I woke up several times last night worrying about the baby (he is just getting over pneumonia) and my 3 yr old nephew snores LOUD!! When he spend the night he usually sleeps with my daughter so I never had heard that before. LOL!! They slept like little rocks and I was up all night. That and the movie CARS has been on a continuous loop since I picked them up yesterday. Kachow!!
Honestly I love having them over, but maybe one at a time from now on. I am glad my children are big now. I used to miss this.... I must have been crazy!!

. He is 37 and I have been teasing him all last week about being closer to 40 than thirty. He is still a hottie though 
!! We decided to get married on his Bday because it is the only day of the year he can remember except tax day and Thanksgiving (only holiday centered around food and you don't have to bring presents for everyone). Green is my fav color as well so it all worked out. Have a great day and peace!! Today officially I have 50 lbs until my own goal(surgeon goal is in 35 lbs) and I wear a size 10. Wahooooo!!Cat

Can you see the smoke coming out of my ears!! Grrrrr..... Just called the Vet clinic. We brought our male cats there 10 days ago to be fixed and declawed. Now all of them are sick and sneezing,drooling, and having trouble breathing. Evidently they picked up some virus while they were there. They have all been laying around the house,having accidents, and have been sneezing and drooling all over the place. They are indoor cats so this is the only place they have EVER been so I think the VET should pay for the medical treatment. The cold (they wouldn't tell me it was a virus but I had done my research before I called them) is very contagious and is passed from cat to cat with secretions. They have had other cases of this recently they said to me today on the phone. My cats are all soooo sick. It cost me a mint ot have them all done at the same time. Now I am regretting it. And I regret taking them there. What would my patients say if I simply said... Uh sorry you have a terrible infection that will always be a threat to you and can be activated any time with stress. We have people come in all the time with this infectious stuff and it just sorta happens. WASH your hands and DISINFECT the cages for heavens sake!!! Might as well have my cats roll around at the pound. I am so MAD!! The culprit is a strain of herpes virus for cats or the calci virus. Causes inflammation of the nose and throat making it difficult to breathe or eat or anything. My poor kitties!! I have two little kittens I have to isolate so they don't get it and our female cats too. Quite by accident we ended up loving 9 cats total and we have two kittens weaning from their mom. I hope they don't get it too. Wish us luck and hope I don't strangle the vet when I see them. Peace and nonviolence
