Hi there.....

June 9 - when I was 1 week post op.....
the only thing i could have is broth and jello and water.

Then my nutritionist gave me a list for week 1 post op. week 3 , week 4 and so on...... of foods that i can have.

The 2nd week, June 18 - ( I was getting out of the hospital )
i had the same thing to eat which was jello and broth and another meal i could have was ........1 high protien liquid shake. - NOTE: watch the carbs ( Carb Solution ) is the best one i really like alot. Don't over do it with the protien shakes. 1 shake every few days is OK. Have HALF of the shake because you can get constipation drinking the shakes. Well i do anyways..... lol

The 3rd, 4th and the 5th week,
i started to introduce foods like: cheese's , ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, Yogurt - The Atkin's Yogurt. is the best. ( everything that is low in fat, low carbs you can have )

after the 6th - 11th week post op
by this time i was feeling great ..... lol and can eat almost anything......I kept saying to myself , LIZZY you gotta watch what you are eating and putting in your mouth ( fat, carbs , sugar) SO you don't wanna DUMP after a few weeks post op!!


Foods I could have 6 weeks post op:

NOTE: (soft, moist, canned, thinly sliced)

WARNING: ( NO BBQ or FRIED foods )

I could eat:
Turkey, Chicken and Fish 6 weeks post op.

For lunch, what i usually have if i am hungery is an Atkin's Yogurt...... usually i am OK with having a half of yogurt and i am done with lunch.

For dinner, i usually have some beans with ground turkey meat. with alittle feta cheese sprinkled on top ( high protien ) and i love it!


NOTE: Before you eat something ....read all packages and labels!!!! grab something nutritional, always!!


What i learned so far 2 months post op


ahhh well i use to SNACK.... during the day, goldfish snacks. i had, but no more. I dumped on it , it gave me diaharra and for 45 minutes i didn't come out of the bathroom........ oh lordy!!!!

SO ....ABSOLUTELY NO SNACKING during the day!! DO NOT EAT CHIPS ......ever!! You will slowly gain weight back!! OR if the chips HAVE CARBS in it and you eat too much of it........ that will make you DUMP! BE CAREFUL!

Hello,

I am sorry i wasn't around last week....

I accidently swallow a piece of food... and it got stuck.
because .. I was such in a rush trying to do something else AND I was trying to feed myself too at the same time and i was not paying attention

how stupid of me ... i should of known better..... to CHEW my foods and PAY ATTENTION while i eat.....

Honestly , i don't go around saying to myself 24 / 7 - i had surgery done. and i need to concentrate on what i am eating. i just eat...

Seriously i SHOULD think that way.... because it is SO important.... to SLOW down while eating. and CHEW really good AND PAY ATTENTION .....so we don't get foods stuck!

Darn it .... i am so mad at myself .....

I was not feeling well at all that night . and was in pain.

this happened on Tuesday night.
I saw my DR Thursday
i told him how i felt , every time i ate something , i felt it not passing through.i felt so full after eating ONE spoon full of cottage cheese. and i felt sick ,but after the food passed , i felt so much better ...

My Dr said it could be a Ulcer , something stuck or a narrowing.
but he honestly thought i got something stuck. which I did ...
My Dr wanted a Endoscopy , and i had it done yesterday.

BUT Wensday night , i passed whatever food was stuck ... and THANK GOODNESS i wasn't in anymore pain. i felt better...

On Sunday , i put a call into my Endo DR and told him that i felt so much better.

The Endo DR. said lets do it anyway for peace of mind , just in case ...something still is stuck i want to check it out.

The Endo procedure when well ,
the Dr said everything he saw was in place and perfect.
THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!!

I am here to tell everyone especially the NEWBIES ,
PLEASE YOU NEED to CHEW your foods WELL....

DO NOT... eat infront of the computer, watch TV, cook or talk ....while eating. DO NOT ......eat fast ...AND watch what you are doing while you eat.

you really need to concentrate while eating and eat slow...

IF you DO NOT pay attention while eating you
can accidently swallow something without even knowing you did,
( like i did ) ...then later ...you'll be in pain and can't eat.

anyway , i am back and feeling ALOT better...
i thought i would share my story....to help newbies and others.

other then this , i am feeling absolutely wonderful :-)

I am a slow loser.... i am not complaining, and i am not worried at all. because i know i will lose the weight... :) I guess some people are just slow losers...But i will tell ya ... the weight WILL come off ... I just keep up the excrisng , drinking alot of water and eating right ....and I KNOW I will be so amazed in another few weeks ... just keep moving forward.... :)

and best of all , i see the results!! my body is tighting up, shaping and toning... as i excrise.... i love it :)

alrighty , i didn't write about this but i would like to add it here so i can come back and read it again ....it's about Dumping ... ugh ...

to entirely avoid dumping , you must keep your: sugars, Carby foods , Oil's, and FATS , ALL VERY low as possible.

I dumped twice , but i remember the one time i REALLY got sick was when i dumped so badly on coffee. I had 3 cups of coffee in a row... and i added too much sweetner in my cup. and BAM.... the room began to spin , spinned for HOURS , i got sick in both ends , ( if you know what i mean lol ) , ran to the bathroom. I got very sweaty and terrible neasusa and all this did not stop , for 5 hours straigth...... it started at 12 noon , then it stopped at 5:00 pm. ahhh , let me tell you , i would never do that again how stupid of me to do that... but lordy , i love coffee... lol but i can't have too much of it.. THE sweetner killed me. also the caffiene gets me sick too. So i am limited to coffee... my body now can't take too much of it. THAT DAY i didn't eat or drink until that night... i couldn't at all.

just be careful and READ ALL LABELS to see if they have ANY sweetner in them....

it is hard when you go out to eat , so to be on the safe side of things , i usually order a nice chicken breast and a small salad. Tell them NOT put no creamy , buttery oily toppings and sauces on the chicken. and the restaurants usually do that for me. trust me , you don't want to be out with friends and family and get sick like this , it isn't pretty... so try ordering light and easy does it with the toppings that they soak on the foods. be careful ordering out.

OH and make sure you CHEW your foods until it is very soft when you are out eating with your friends and family.... thats another thing we all should be careful about.... pay attention , don't swallow your foods fast, OR it may get stuck and then you will uncomfortable for a while until the foods get unstuck.

Ok , lets see , last year MAY 13 , 2005 , i had to stop excrising from hernia. I started to get depressed because i was not excrising. that is normal. excrising helps to keep the depression away. So i was unable to do anything. a few weeks , the hernia went back into it's wall and i was able to excrise again. :) it took about 4 months and i gained 10 pounds back from NOT doing anything... i was SO mad at myself , i complained alot to myself and to my hubby... i was so sad...

recently , MAY 18 , 2006 , i developed a hernia AGAIN... due to lack of fiber in my diet.... ugh!! it was NOT fun. i had to STOP excrising all together again.... TODAY ( JUNE 14 , 2006 ) i started back excrising... i love to run with the hernia i was atleast running... that kept me going and i lost muscle mass from not excrising and just sitting... so that depressed me but i am NOW BACK into the gym and working out ... my surgeon cleared me , thank goodness


******HERE is my workout schedule*******


i workout 6 days a week , and i take sundays off.

this is what works for me...

my workout schedule

I get up early and i run 2 miles , then later on in the early evenings, i run another 2 miles. i run 4 miles total in a day. i am trying hard to increase that... :-)

i love doing my walk away the pounds excrising video tapes. i do the 2 mile tape as soon as I get up 5:30 am , then after i run my 2 miles. after that ... i go to the gym (CURVES) - every DAY , it is only 30 minutes and i am OUT of there :-) I love it..... it works FOR ME :-) After that , i get on my treadmil and do 2 hours, I spit it up , i do- 1 hour in the moring and another 30 minutes in the afternoon. then another 30 minutes at night.

ON Monday, WED, and SAT's , i weight train with my hubby with weights 45 minutes to an hour, it all depends on what we are training that day and then i hit the heavy bag for 1 hour. and also kickboxing after that, my hubby uses a shield and i kick and punch it ( 1 hour)hehehe, i enjoy that alot :-)


****ABOUT Hypoglycemia****

some of us here went through this or ARE going through this too. One year ago i was having this LOW blood sugar problem. I took care of it AND got it all under control. I went to the DR and told him about what i was feeling - Low blood sugar , Hypoglycemia.

My surgeon told me that i was eating the wrong things and i had a insulin rush that went through The pancreas way too fast, that made me feel shaky, trembling and sweaty all over. just like you.

So basically my DR told me that overreating to much of carb foods WILL give off too much insulin which WILL drops the blood sugar.

My sugreon also told me to never eat carbs by themselves. Always eat carbs mixed with protein and fat. AND eat ALOT more protein then anything else.

So i wrote down what i was eating and kept a journal. and basically , yes, my surgeon IS right.... thats what i was doing. thank goodness i saw my surgeon about this and he told me what i was doing wrong....

NOW i am feeling ALOT better and do not have this problem anymore. :-)

Hello everyone,

I am doing great, i am eating very good and i feel so healthy!!

My family thinks i am getting too thin and small..... They say this is a good weight for you , don't loose anymore weight!!

My hubby says to me lastnight, i guess we have to buy you baby clothes soon , hmmm ?? because you are getting so tiny!!! lol i started to laugh , that made me feel good lol hehehe........

I tell them, well , i can't stop , only my body can do that. lol Whatever happens , HAPPENS.....

For me , myself , i would LOVE to lose another 30 lbs. and i will be good ....

Right now , i am at 140 lbs. and to me that is still TOO BIG for my height and frame..... i am only 4'11 and tiny built body frame.

So i would LOVE to see my weight about 114 - 120LBS.
MY MAIN personal goal is to be at 110 lbs.

I doubt if I will get there though..... lol i am HOPING one day i will be at that goal weight..... ahhh

I got a check up with my DR and everything is going great...

Except for i found a small bump on my upper inner thigh, I told my hubby about it and he checked it out and said , hmm maybe it is a herina ? so i called HIS surgeon to get it checked out asap. I got in there to see him a week later) , and ya know what ? WHEN i went to see his DR (who did his hernia surgery) and with in a week the small lumpy thingy went away....... awww man , i was so scared.

Anyway , i called DR Vohra to see if HE did hernia's and the office said YES! So i went into to see him and he said that he didn't FEEL anything there right now ..... BUT he did say to TAKE IT EASY working out and all...... don't disturb it... so i am taking it easy and walking alot...... who would think that a herina thingy would go back into it's wall ?? lol hmm it worked itself BACK into it's hole lol good!!!!!!!!! i am very happy lol.......

lets see ? what else is there , i have a cyst i have to watch out for on my ovaries. It sometimes hurts when I walk ... BUT i havwen't felt anything for a long time though ( 6 months ago ) I need to go get a check up with this soon..... i hate going to the GYN lol yuk But now since i lost all that weight , it doesn't HURT all that bad anymore when the DR takes a paps mere (sp??) So i am happy with that though lol, i will update with this news when i go later on this year.



This is what i have usually to eat BELOW.... this far out post op-

BUT since then i changed my eating habits to only eating 2 times a day back to the basics that DR Vorha had me on since my WLS. and i have been losing weight. SEE my NEWEST entery all the way at the bottom


breakfast - oat meal with a hand full of each of - blueberries and soy nuts.

for lunch - i usually have shrimp 6 pieces. OR a BIG table spoon of tuna with salad and a small cut up apple. - a small piece of banana ( ONCE A WEEK because banana's can be constipating ) I NEED to get some Potassuim in my diet.

Snack - if I get alittle hungry i usually have a half of protien bar to help me get through to dinner or maybe a piece of fruit.

for dinner - I usually have whatever i feel like having , yes of course PROTIEN FIRST...... i have chicken OR Steak , (small piece and CHEW WELL) OR turkey hamburger ( 1/2 ) Maybe a dinner from TRADER JOES ( I absolutely LOVE that store!!), And i always try to fit in some salad and a vegie WITH a piece of fruit.

I try to eat small portions so I get everything in and all my calories. ALL the good nutrition that i need for the day :-)

For my water this is what i have below

throughout the day i have 64 oz of PLAIN water
Sugar Free Orange aid drink ( i drink 2 cans - 12oz each )
i have Propel drink ( 16oz )
and i also have sugar free ice pops.... my favorite yumm..

I will update pictures soon......

Hello everyone,
