Hi! I'm a 40 y/o military wife, with a wonderful husband and a GENIUS 11 y/o son (I know, I know, but what can I say? He's mine lol). I've been fighting the never ending battle of the bulge for about 20 years now, and I've finally decided that if I want to control my weight instead of having it control me, it's time for some intervention. Medically, I'm in fairly good shape. I'm asthmatic, but it's under control. I can't blame the asthma on my weight, since I've had asthma since childhood, and I was a disgustingly thin child. In fact, I didn't really have a weight problem until I developed PCOS in my early 20's. Unfortunately, back then, most doctors weren't trained to recognize PCOS, let alone treat it. And with military medicine, it was ridiculous. I'd go see a doctor, and be told "lose 20 pounds and you'll be fine." Yeah, thanks for the advice. Fortunately, medicine has come a long way in the last decade, and so much more is known about PCOS.
