well like some here I was never a overweight child or teen I was involved in ballet tap and jazz since the age of 3 and my teen years I was a cheerleader for middle school and high school , so I was active. but this weight came creeping up on me about two yeas ago I am 23 years old, I am married to a very good man and I have a four year old son that’s my pride and joy =) after I had my child I managed to loose weight on Atkins I felt good about my weight loss but then gain it all back and more then I tried theses Brazilian diet pills that I lost sooo much while on them but ones I got off all the weight and more came back and that’s when I saw myself in the two hundreds wow! ever since I have been in the two hundreds I have not been sleeping well I have a lack of confidence, I feel depressed at times. I sometimes don’t want to go out in public , I hate to have to go to family events, I know they are going to criticize me ;( yes even family..... and I cant Handel that because I am very sensitive when it comes to my weight .i am 225 right now and i am 5'2. I have been researching wls since 11/14/06 and I have learned so much here . At first I thought I wanted a lap band but then I researched into the vertical sleeve and knew that it was for me! and it has been hard for me because I will have to self pay, but I finally found the answer to my prayers Dr Alvarez in Mexico...... not only is he one of the best but the price is amazing so, I am waiting on the loan approval and then hopefully I will be sleeved !!! yay!!! cant wait I am very nervous, lots of reasons because I will be flying for the first time, and I will be going to a different county to have wls and i will be leaving my family for a few days =( and I am scared of the anesthesia people don’t understand why I am scared of the anesthesia, well ..... because I have never had General anesthesia and I feel as if I will be able to feel when they are operating on me and then I will die of the pain..... l.o.l kind of ridicules thought but it is a thought of mine , I have not done so well with local anesthesia in the past and the epidural did not work to well on me so I hope this will be completely different ,if any of you read this and have some advise or just want to share stories with me please feel free I love to make new friends and the only people I can talk to about wls is the people here on the OH website. I am so very happy I found this support system here, thanks Everyone!
