I had my lap band surgery as scheduled on Wednesday, 4/2/08 as scheduled. It was supposed to have been out patient but for some reason my doctor decided to keep me overnight. I'm so glad he did. I had hernia repair at the same time as my lap band so that may have something to do with his reason to keep me. My bladder went to sleep because of the anesthesia so I had to be catheterized that night. Since then, I have had no problem peeing since I am on a clear liquid only diet. I miss chewing food but I am not the slightest bit hungry.
Tomorrow, I get to start on a full liquid diet which consists of milk based products. That shall be interesting. I weighed myself before I left the hospital and I was down 11 lbs from the liquid pre-surgery diet. I think it would have been more but I was on an iv until I left the hospital Thursday afternoon.
