Feb 22, 2008

Hi to all my OH friends!! Well I can't believe it's already been a whole year! Man how time flies. I have to say that I am truly a much happier and healtier person. I am now down to 150lbs! Wow can't believe I've come that far. I've actually lost another person. I am so grateful to my angel Brianna who shared her story of her surgery and it was from her inspiration that encouraged and inspired myself to look into having the gastric surgery myself. Thank you so much Brianna for being there for me when I had soo many crazy questions and for being just a great friend..love you lots girlie!! And of course I am so thankful and grateful to the most wonderful man in the world..my husband Jeff!! You've been there for me through the bad and the good and still continue to be there with me on this journey that still has it's ups and downs, but I know I can count on you to always be there and to always lift me up when I need it! To the greatest Dr. out there...Dr. Lourie!! Just an awsome and sweet man! And to all my OH friends that I am so happy and thankful to of met!! You are all wonderful people and great inspirations!!!! I look forward to spending  the rest of my life as a healthier, more energetic, happier, and way more confident wife, mother and friend!!

Almost 6 months out!

Aug 02, 2007

I know I'm horrible at keeping up with my post! Well I'm feeling really great! I'm so happy that I made the awsome choice of having this surgery! Yes there have been some rough times..and probably some more to come but overall this has been one of the greatest things that have happenend to me!! As of today I am down 94lbs!!! Wow can't believe it. I feel so much more confident in myself and I've never felt so much energy! I hope I can lose about 60 more lbs. I've been keeping up with my exercising 6 times a week. This is really helping my body and my weight lose. I'm still trying to get in all my protien and water. I just still can't eat or drink much. I'm now feeling pretty proud of myself and it really does feel good to recieve all the nice compliments from friends and family who haven't seen me in awhile. I am looking forward to what happens in the future on this journey of mine!

2 months post op!!

Apr 09, 2007

Wow it's been a while since I've updated everyone! Sorry! Well I can't believe it's already been two months. How time seems to fly! I'm doing really well. I'm now down 50lbs and very proud of myself. I still have a long ways to go before I'm where I want to be but I know I will get there! It feels great to put on so many of my clothes and they don't even fit anymore! It's just soo awesome!!! I've never felt so good about myself before. And the pain in my knee is almost gone...it's way better than it was before my surgery. I'm also eating pretty good now. It nice to be eating more regular foods now. I got brave last week and I tried to have a carbonated drink...boy was that a mistake! At first I was fine..but later that night I had really bad cramping and felt very bloated. I felt bad for 3 freakin days. So I'm not going to be trying carbonation now for awhile! Other than that..things have been great! I went to a clothing store the other day and bought some shirts and panties and am proud to announce that they were 2 sizes smaller!! YEAH!!! Oh and at my moms on Easter I sat in one of her plastic patio chairs and my butt fit! My thighs weren't screaming for mercy..I actually fitted comfortably!! I was so happy! I hope all my OH friends had a nice holiday too and are doing great!

One week post-op

Feb 12, 2007

Ok well I'm one week out and have to say that overall I'm doing pretty good. Right out of surgery I had horrible gas pain. My stomach was so hard and I felt like I couldn't breath very well. It was difficult but thank god for gas relief!!! And I tell you what..I didn't care who was around me or who could hear me! lol. As long as I felt better! I came home on Friday instead of Thursday because I couldn't pee on my own. The nurses told me that happens sometimes right after surgery. So on Friday I did the duty and I was sent home. Well on Saturday at 2:30am I had a BM of only dark blood...scared me to death! Nobody told me that sometimes this could happen due to blood that can be left behind after surgery because of the cutting and my body was naturally getting rid of it. So after a long night at the ER I was finally home to rest. I was told though that if it came back I would have to go back to ER. Thank God it didn't. So now it's the 6th day out and my stomach feels better now from the surgery itself. Not so much pain anymore. Ican lay comfortably on my side now..yeah! I do have to say that being on only liquids right now it hard ..but I know it will all get better!
