My story is like so many others.  I was heavy as a child.  I have pictures of me in Ballet with a pudgy bulge under my leotard.  I have always been active so not sure why I cant keep my weight under control.  After I had my first child in 1986 it became a loosing battle.  Then when I had another successful pregnancy and the birth of my 2nd child It became more of a fight.
Both of my parents were overweight and fought with it as well.  After my father passed away my mother started on her trek to loose weight and keep it off.  At her peak she weighed 250.  It became such a task that it turned into an obsession for her.  We called her the food Nazi.  Not the best term but it fit.  She would come to dinner and say I cant eat that. Or that's OK I'm not hungry Ill eat something from home.  It was not at all fun.  Even when she was battling cancer and gaining water weight she would say she was too heavy.  She weighed 135 and was 5ft 10.  It was very sad to say she had become anorexic.  Unfortunately she lost her battle with cancer and passed away last January.
I do not want to become her.  I want to loose the weight safely and personally I think this is the best choice for me.  I don't think my husband it too keen on the idea but he will support me in what I choose. My friend Kelly is my best friend and she is behind me all the way.  I'm looking forward to loosing at least 70 pounds.  My doctor said it will be more but I do not want to get too over zealous.  I will be so happy to loose whatever I can and keep it off.

So that is my story. I have started my journey and look forward to wherever I end up.
