Wow, it's been over a year since I've updated. Now down to ~125lbs.

Almost 6 months!

Jun 02, 2010

I haven't had much to say in the past few months, so I haven't updated.

::thinking::

OK, well, my 6 month post op appt is in a few weeks, and so far I've lost 70ish lbs. I know that's a decent #, BUT I can't help but wonder how much I could have lost by now had I been going to the gym all this time. I blame it on Ruthie. (o:

It's summer, and I'm still stuck at school (but getting paid for it!), and at the moment it's better than being stuck at home.

Strictures aren't fun.

Oscar is being a bastard.

My bariatric support group had a beach retreat a couple weekens ago and I had so much fun!!!! There was a game of Bypass vs. Banders volleyball and it was amusing to say the least - not to mention I have some fabulous blackmail pictures now. ::evil laugh::

A few losers after the volleyball game:

I can't wait to grow out of Torrid!

Mar 21, 2010

But I loved shopping there yesterday.

I picked up a size 22, a size 20 and a size 18 which I never thought would fit.
The 22 was really big, the 20 was kind of loose and the 18 was kinda snug but IT FIT! So I bought some size 18s. I should have bought a 16 now that I think of it, just to have around for motivation, but being out of the 20s in pant size feels just as great as being out of the 200s pounds wise!

Oh, and I am so excited for Spring! I also "pigged out" on sandals at DSW =X

AND my 3 mo post op appt is Tuesday~

6 week post-op appt

Feb 12, 2010

This morning I saw Dr. Cerrabona (whom I love!) for my 6 week checkup. When he came in, he was like, "You're doing great with the weight loss" and he could tell by the look on my face that I wasn't equally impressed. Of course, this led to a discussion about how since I didn't weigh 400lbs or 300lbs I wouldn't lose as much as quickly and then he said that they actually make pouches smaller the bigger you are and blah-blah-blah. I know all that to be true but still...when I compare my weight loss (30lbs) to people who had surgery around the same time or even the same day, it kind of depresses me. BUT he said I was actually "ahead of schedule" weight loss-wise, so I promised I wouldn't compare my loss to anyone else's anymore blah-blah-blah. :)

But what I was excited about the most was that I no longer have to take chewable or liquid anything! I can go back to regular multis and calcium and that is such a relief!

Next appt in 6 wks at the 3 month post-op mark!

I named my pouch!

Jan 18, 2010

At the urging of a friend, I named my pouch.

It's name is OSCAR.

OSCAR the Pouch.  And Oscar's sure as hell just as grumpy as the grouch for whom he was named.

First puke!

Jan 12, 2010

Nice title, huh?

Tonight I tried to eat a scrambled egg, and I either ate it too fast or didn't chew it up enough (?) but I felt some get stuck and then I threw it all up. I LEARNED MY LESSON!

Mantra

Jan 06, 2010

OK I can no longer watch commercial television. Every other commercial is a food I can't eat! It's driving me nuts!

I have to keep repeating my new mantra:

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!
