Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 81 pounds!!! Good luck!

Hi everyone! Hi my OH Friends- I wanted to thank everyone that wished me well for my surgery on 2-17-04. I also wanted to give everyone a quick update: o My surgery went great-thanks to my surgeon Dr Ali. o No complications. 2 ½ hour lap gastric bypass. o I walked a lot in the hospital and did a lot of deep breathing. o I also followed the doctors and nurses instructions! I came home at 10:30am on Friday, February 20, 2004! Since then, I feel great! Very little pain, a lot of energy, not more heartburn, my asthma is soooo much better and I am more happy then I have been in a long time! I think that I had such miraculous results because of a few things: o My attitude-I was determined to succeed and not have very much pain! Attitude is everything! o I walked like a fool in the hospital-every 2 hours (even in the middle of the night) Walking helped me when I couldn’t sleep to get tired and relax-it also helped my breathing and fever. o Relaxing, taking deep breathes and getting a massage before surgery! o Focusing on my goals and going to support group! Thank you again to everyone that brightened my day by sending me their prayers for a successful surgery! You prayers and mine were answered! Thanks- Lynnda

Hi Lynnda! I am so glad that your husband posted an update to your profile. I am so happy that your surgery went well and that you were walking so quickly! I hope that you have been getting my emails in the hospital. The worst is over. It may be a little rough the first few weeks, but it'll just keep getting better and better! -Jes
