Well Hello Everybody. Here is my story (Probably similar to yours...)
I have been overweight most of my life.  But I was always able to work and do everything I wanted to do (I've always been a truck driver hauling gasoline tankers and dump trailers.)
But that all changed at the end of 2003. I was in a truck accident and injured my knee. And since then it was ALL downhill. Since it was winter I decided to take a lay-off from work and stay home and try to get my knee to heal. Well the knee healed but the rest of me fell apart. From January 2004 til November 2005 I gained about 150 to 200 pounds. Somewhere along the way I was diagnosed with sleep apnea.
Then on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in 2005 I had respiratory failure. I was in a coma for 17 days. Then in 2 different Rehab facilities. I wasn't able to come back home  until May 1st 2006. Being sick for so long I lost about 100 pounds. But the minute I got home I gained it all back plus some. And to make things worse after being in bed for so long I lost all of my stamina and couldn't walk even 10 feet.
So last September I decided I had to do something or I would spend the rest of my life in bed.
I decided to have gastric bypass surgery and started my journey. At my first weigh in at the Weight Center I was 575lbs. And that was after dieting on my own for a couple of months- so I'm sure I was closer to if not over 600 lbs. My surgery was on June 18th, 2007. On that day I weighed in at 545. I am waiting for medical clearance to start an exercize program.

My goal is to lose about 200 to 250 lbs. My bigger goal is to be able to return to work driving the big trucks that I love.
