One year...
Aug 22, 2009
So far I have lost 52 1/2 inches and 96 pounds. What is a big kid or a really skinny chick.LOL
I built (with the help of the 16 year old next door) a new bedroom, doubling my square footage. I am so happy with my new "ROOM" and I love the fact that I how have two rooms for my personal use. One is for my sewing/ office/ clothes and most importantly SHOES!
I have traveled, grown my annual garden (with less difficultly),Built the room, bought a motor home, a motorcycle (both are in the beautifying stage and will be on the road next year).
I finally got to meet 2 of my grand babies, one born 2/2008 and the other 12/2008 and now there is yet one more on the way in 12/2009. That will make a total of 6 grand children.4 boys and 2 girls (one of the girls is by marriage). The oldest is 18 and the youngest, like I said won't be here until December of this year.
Taking off all the weight off has given me my energy back. It hasn't taken away the back pain nor the bladder pain. But it has given me a fighting chance to go on.
I have met and made new friends threw this forum that I hope will be friends for a life time.
I am hoping to go back to work or to get into a training program so that I am able to return to work very soon.
I still have bladder issues that are sometime unbearable but at least now I have a Dr. that does pain management. And has made it were I can at least get some sound sleep at night (up to 4 hours, for the first time in years).
To any of you newbies out there if I can help you in your new journey, just PM me, I will do what I can to make it the best experience possible.
Blessed Be

It has been to long
Jul 25, 2009
Since surgery I have accomplished so much ...I have built a new bedroom (please see pictures on my profile). I have been to AZ,VA and NV. I have made new friends and rekindled old friendships. No, there isn't a man in my life and it really isn't something I am looking for anymore.
I am hoping to go back to school out at the college, if I can get SSDI to pay for it.I hate being on disability. But need to train in something that doesn't require me being on my feet 8-12 hours a day.

IC SUCKS
Oct 25, 2008
I see the Urologist Nov 10 and will make plans to have surgery on the rotten diseased bladder for the fourth time!!
I think I am about ready to give up and let hm take it out and hopefully give me a new one!!! I am so sick of fighting the unending pain everyday!!
I like being a happy and out going person. IC makes it hard to be the person I like!! I like working, IC has made that impossible. Who wants to hire someone that has to run to pee ever 15 minutes. I want a full nights sleep. I am so sleep deprived I sometimes think I will just die from fatigue. But I keep going and I refuse to give up.

I went a a 1 week vacation. Totally unplanned (the best way to go) Stayed with best Friend.Did really well with lay overs and the like. But, OMG... was I wore out on the flight there. Coming home wasn't as bad.
I am still fighting the fatigue but partly of that has to do with my bladder disease an not being able to get as much fluids right now as I should. I will be having Surgery on my bladder (this will be # 4) again, around the end of November, and after that I will have about 6-7 months relatively pain free and able to drink more fluid. But for now I live on pain meds as much H2O as I can stand + a little more to stay hydrated. Camomile tea is my best friend for the moment, it has soothing properties, that hydrate and make my poor diseased bladder feel better...IC sucks(interstitial cystitis)!!!!!
HOPE to see you there

15 days out
Sep 03, 2008
I got an e-mail from OH to see how I was doing 2 weeks out and to remind me to up date my profile. So here I am... II was also asked if I thought ,"OMG, what have I down?" Well, that isn't the case for me. I was so sure and had an excellent understanding of what to expect that I have not once felt like I have made a huge mistake.
My surgeon has an excellent program and IF you as a patient do as your taught, there just aren't that many surprises. Of course, the liquid diet wasn't fun but it was bearable. As was the pureed period.
Dr. Coates and is staff do an excellent job of preparing you for your new life if you do the work. And it is work!! Like any tool you have to put some energy into it in order for it to work.
I am a total of 30 pounds down. 20 since surgery.
I couldn't be happier with the way I am feeling! I am looking forward to feeling better , and yes, looking better everyday.
I feel so good that the other day I was talking to my best friend and she said, I sure wish you were here and I thought a sec and said well I can come down next month (next month being 2 days away) So on the 10th I am going to fly to AZ for a week. We have been best friends for almost 12 years now... I am lucky I have 2 best friends one in AZ and the other about 8 miles away and we have been best friends for 40 years.
Thanks for dropping in and if I could I would have offered you something to drink while you were here.
There ain't no fairy waving a wand to lose you have to work that tool!!!
This is FUN

I wasn't always heavy. It start to get really out of control when I could no longer work due to an unrelated condition. A bladder disease called Interstitial Cystitis. Very Panful and mine is the most severe form...now for the kool news since WLS I have half the symptoms I had before WLS.
My body seems to change daily...this is just beyond fun.
I DO HAVE A DATE
Aug 16, 2008
