 July 16, 2009:

Well once again I realize that I am not good at keeping a blog. I need to write more often and I am going to try to do better. So lets get caught up on where I am and what has been going on.

Well to start off with on Wednesday it was exactly 7 weeks from my surgery. Remember I started at 413 pounds and on Wednesday after 7 weeks I weighed 338. Yes 338, that is 75 pounds lost. I look and feel better than I have in years. My clothes are starting to fit again. I am wearing clothes that I have not worn in years.

I get a lot of questions about what I am eating and how I am tolerating certain foods and to be honest that is one area where I am not doing well. I am not able to eat many foods. I try different things and then usually end up eating very little or in some cases have actually gotten sick. Last night I ate about half of a cup of chili at Chili’s and a few bites of broccoli. Yeah once outside I ended up returning the broccoli to nature.  Tonight, for dinner we had ham steak and macaroni and cheese. (the really good Mac n cheese that is made by Stouffers that comes frozen in the ban that you bake) anyway  I ate like 2 little bitty bitty bite of ham and 2 bite of mac n cheese and that was all I could stand. I didn’t get sick but usually in the first 2 or 3 bites I can tell if a food is not going to sit well with me. So tonight I ended up eating watermelon for dinner. The good thing is I love watermelon and since the surgery it loves me!

New adventures have been coming too! Before the surgery I could not stand for more than 10 minutes without back pain, let alone if I was moving or walking or working. So to be able to go to Busch gardens, which is an amusement park here in the Tampa area, and walk all day with only natural fatigue is a great feeling. Not to mention being able to ride roller coasters again! Yes for about 2 years I have been too fat to ride the coasters. I was also not worried about the log ride bottoming out, lol.  Anyway it was good to be able to spend the day at the park with the kids and not be in pain! Well kids can be a pain but you know that if you have any!

Well the family is good and my health is getting better and better. Life is good right now and the future is looking better and better! So till next time Peace and Grace be with you.

I am Stan, and I had my surgery on May 27, 2009 at Tampa General Hospital. I weighed 413 pound right before surgery. I was lucky in the fact that I had few weight complications. I had sleep apnea, which i wore a cpap, and high blood pressure that was corrected with one pill twice a day. I am 34(just turned 34 june 23rd) and I am a full time student, husband, and father. Oh and I work too. I love the fact that there is a closeness that I feel when I talk too others that have had surgery and are going through this journey too. I look forward to sharing successes and failures and making many new friends! I also do a video blog series about my weight loss on you tube   http://www.youtube.com/user/WhatIfuSuck . If you have not been on there, there are many wonderful people on there that are sharing their stories and it is a great thing!! Well I look forward to building friendships as we all venture through this journey together! Peace and grace be with you!
