I'm six months out and I have officially lost 100 pounds!  I can't believe how good I feel.  I am so happy.  I have had almost no side effects except my hair is falling out.  I am trying to get enough protien in and hang in there until it is done falling out.

Having surgery was a wonderful decision.  I really had no idea how miserable I was until I started feeling better.  I had my six month check-up this week and my numbers and labs look great.  I have lost 4 1/2 inches from around my neck!!!  I have gotten rid of most of my clothes and bought a few new things. I don't want to go hog wild until I am done loosing.  Hopefully that will be in about fifty more pounds.

I am moving around and playing and it feels great.  I joined a softball team.  I bike nearly every day.  I can work without standing on the fatigue mats.  I have learned of so many things I can do that I really had no idea I couldn't do.  I can put my hand all the way around my wrist.  My rings are falling off.  Its so fun to discover those new things.

I couldn't be happier with my decision and look forward to loosing more and feeling EVEN better!

I had surgery on December 8th, about a month ago.  I am feeling great and very happy!  So far I love it.  I'm not very hungry, I can't eat much and I'm losing tons of weight.  What could be better? 

The only snafu I've run into so far is that I was preapproved for the surgery, and about a week ago my insurance said they would only cover $9,000.  How can you preapprove it and then, post surgery, unapprove it? LAME insurance, very lame. 

Anyway, I am very grateful for having the surgery, and I would like to see the insurance company come and take it back.  Good luck.

insurance approved me today!!!!!  yippie.  so I will very soon (hopefully tomorrow) have a surgery date!  Long time coming.  its been pretty much a full year since I decided to do this until to day when i am APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About a week or two away from submitting to insurance.  Can't believe how long its been and how much I have had to do to get to this point but I'm pretty sure everything will go pretty fast from here on out.  Very nervous but excited as well.

did sleep study.  have sleep apnea.  wore cpap last night for the first time, never slept better.

I am worried gov pawlenty is gonna take away my mn care before i have surgery.  sure hope not...

Met my surgeon today.  Dr. Koeplin.  He seems great.  He thinks RNY is a good choice as well.  If all goes well we are looking at surgery at the end of august or beginning of sept.  Lots of hoops to jump through between now and then.  Trying not to allow myself to be excited, but I can't help it.  I am excited.  I could be feeling much better by christmas!  Fingers crossed!

Yippieee I have insurance!!!!  It sure felt like it took a long time!  I have my first WLS appointment on May 4th and I am so looking forward to it.  I am choosing my health plan for MN care now and I think I am going to choose Ucare.  From all I have heard it seems like the have a few less hoops to jump through.  Hopefully all will go smoothly, but you never know. I am just so happy to have health ins!  I am so excited to go to the Dr and get checked out!  Its been a long long time.

I called insurance on monday and they said they never received my application.  So I quick filled out another one and hand-deleviered it on Tuesday.  I also went to the informational bariatric seminar at park nicollet methodist on tuesday night.  I don't know if everything will line up for June but I am still holding out hope.

Waiting patiently to hear back from insurance...

Found the scale at my grandparents and weighed myself.  Im 279 lbs.
