Hi! I'm Emily, age 52, I'm a wife of 32 years, mom of a 28 year old daughter and 26 year old son. Grandma to Ryan, age 1. I work full time as a health and benefits specialist for the State of Maine. I am up to my eyeballs in crafts and hobbies. Love to sew, knit, do counted cross stitch, flamework (make glass beads on a torch), jewelry making, bead weaving, kumihimo (Japanese cord weaving), gardening, and anything else that comes along.
I've always been a large girl, from age 10. I was in grade 5-6 and over 100 lbs! In 7th grade I reached 200 and tried dieting for the 1st time, down to 168. Throughout my school, college and adult life I have yo-yo'd up and down in weight through dieting. At my highest I have weighed 320. I'm currently 294 awaiting an initial visit with Dr. Toder in Bangor on June 17, '08. The Dietician says it can be 6-8 weeks after this visit for surgery!!! I hope so.
I'm looking forward to being a healthier weight, not huffing and puffing, living a long life, seeing my grandson grow up, wearing "normal" sized clothes, less RX meds to take.
DH is also going through the process himself. We hope to have RNY.
