Wow what a Week!

It has been an amazing week so far!  I have lost 5lbs so far

On Sunday I ran my first official 5K in Dallas. My official time was 41:47 min and this is the fastest I have ever run it.

On Monday I went for my 3rd fill, she put 2 ccs in to bring me to a total of 8ccs in my band.

On Tuesday  I hit my lowest adult weight ever! at 165 YEAH!!!

On Wednesday I had my first PB experience, this was not fun! but I got to spend the day with a friend that I had not seen in a long time.

On Thursday I went shopping with my mom and I was able to wear a size 12 pants!

Today my weight is 161 and I am only 8lbs from being just "overweight"

I will say that this fill has certianly been a learning experience. Slow down, take tiny bites and listen to you band!

1st PB -- Yuck!

Ok, so I had a pretty aggressive fill on Monday of 2 cc bringing me to 8cc in my band. I had done liquids for 2 days and today I introduce soft foods -- so tonight I tried tuna.

Let me just say if you are wondering if you have pb'd or what it is, let me just say you will know when it hits you.  3 bites in something in me screamed STOP!!!!!! and I stopped and threw away the rest of the tuna.  But it did not stop, it felt like something was stuck at the back of my throat and all of a sudden I started gagging. I ran to the bathroom and up came all that I had just eaten.  I do not know how to explain it, it is not like vomiting there are no stomach acids or partial digested food involved.  It is just like your stomach rejected what you just put in your mouth and sent it back up the pipeline. 

Although I did not find it painful,  I am not interested in doing it again. Thank God I was at home!

This sucks!!!

Ok so all was going great I lost 60lbs FAST! but now im just excited to see the scale move down at all week to week.  A single pound a week is a victory. And to make matters worse my hair is coming out in handfuls, this sucks!

Good thing that my hair was thick to begin with, I was hoping to be at 165 by now but I have been a different levels of 166 for a week now

Yee Haw!

The scale is moving again! After a 3 weeks of going up and down from 171.4 to 173.8 the scal moved in the right direction again. As of this morning I am at 169.8!

I am excited, I want ot be below 165 by the 5K race and I hope to be inching my way to 150 by my birthday. Oh, I realize that I may not be able to make it there by my birthday after the stall, but I will keep it as my Labor Day goal!

Is this a stall?

Ok so I am getting a little frustrated. I hit 171.4 about 2 weeks ago and since then I have bounced between 171.4 and 173. So now I have to get back to the basics, measure my food, count my protien and make sure I get my water in, plus up the exercise.. I hope it moves soon. I knew in my brain that the first 58 came off fast and I would hit a stall soon, but it still makes me crazy.

I was hoping to make it below 165 by the 5k but now I am not sure it is going to happen.

3 Months Post-Op

I have not blogged in a while, so I thought this would be a good time to do so! My 3 month surgiversary is tomorrow which also coincides with my 17 year anniversary to a wonderful man that I would not have been able to do this with out.

I currently weigh 173 and I am 1/2 way to my ultimate goal weight of 118 (may never happen). I have lost 55lb and I have 55 to go! My 16 year old spazed out a little tonight when she overheard me telling her sister that this was my goal weight because she currently weighs 125 and the thought of mom weighing less freaked her out.  I reminded her that she is 4 inches taller than me, but I don't think she cares.

On another note, I have been working my way through the c25k program and I am on Week 6  where you run 25 min. straight.  Well I just kinda skipped that part and jogged the whole 3 miles instead. Now I am setting my ipod on the 45 min run to see how long it takes me to jog the 3 miles and start working on getting faster.  I have jogged this for the last 2 days and I am currently running it in about 43 min. My goal by July 18th (my scheduled 5k in Dallas) is to be at 30 min. In the heat at that time of year surviving is my ultimate goal -- by my dream goal is 30 min.

I have also completed day 6 of Jillian's 30 day shred although I did take Wednesday off because I felt like crap. But I picked it back up on Thursday. My goal for this is to be finished by July 4th, but I do not think that is going to happen -- so my new goal is to finish it before I leave for the race.

My 3rd mini/crazy goal is to be at 150lbs by my birthday.  Originally it was 165 but at my current rate of loss I think I will hit that in early July. Anywhere between the 2 will make me happy!

This journey has its ups and downs and like all roller coasters it makes me dizzy and nauseous - but I am having a ball and I want to stay on forever!

2nd Fill

I had my second fill on Monday. Sandy put 1cc in bringing me to a total of 6cc. Everything looked fine and I am feeling well, the only difference this time was keeping to the 48 of liquids and 48 of soft foods. Unlike this time, I am hungry so it is hard to stay off food. However, today I could have soft food a noon and I realized that the amount it took to make me full was significantly less than before the fill and that is good news.

Also 7 pounds lost in a week is nothing to sneeze at either - I will take that anytime. I also am doing self talk reminding myself that as I start solid food it may stall a bit or even rebound a pound or so and I will NOT freak out!

Fickle Friend

 Fickle Friend are you my band. I have planning on scheduling a fill for next monday because I didn't have much restriction, and now since I started my period this month I have been tight. I think I may have been a little stuck yesterday til I tried some pineapple juice. I still have a little twinge in my chest but at least I can eat today. So my solution is that I went a head and made an appointment for a fill on Monday. My thoughts are that it may go back to normal before then, if not I would like to see on x-ray that everything is ok. Not really sure, but trying not to worry.

First Fill

Ok, so Saturday went much better, I had my first fill done at the hospital with fluro. Come to find out my port is much closer to the middle than they realized, I actually thought this might be the case on Friday night when I stuck my finger in my belly button and could feel my port. (don't ask why I stuck my finger in my belly button, I have no idea)

After quite a bit of confusion as to what I was supposed to do when I arrived at 8:25, Dr. Davidson did my fill at 9:45. He put 5cc in my 10 cc band, and proceeded to say "hunh, that might be a little tight". I sat around drinking water for about 35 min and then went home. My DH has taken to watching me like a hawk because he is afraid I might be too tight and it is a 3.5 hour trip back to Dallas. Every time I burp he asks me if I'm ok.

Although I am a little snug I can drink protein and fluids I  think I'm good. We'll see in 2 days when I am trying to get dense protein down though.

Holy CRAP!

 Let me just say that that is my response to my first fill experience. Or more accurately my first attempt at a fill experience, since they were not able to access my port.

After 25 minutes of poking prodding and digging (and many tears from me) they gave up and decided to have me come back on Saturday to do it under fluro.  Not really sure what is going on, but being the pessimist that I am I can tell you all the horrible things it might be - if the port has flipped I am screwed because I am self pay and at this point there is no way I can pay for another surgery.

Good news is that today I am back to 195.2 - lowest weight so far, so I will take it. I hope Saturday goes better, we'll see ...
