Hi my name is Maria (Delia) Broughton, I am 5' 1" and two weeks ago weighed 276. I had my surgery on 10/11/06. My surgery went very well, and I had no complications. No nausea, vomiting, no pain after I got home, nothing! Praise God! I am feeling better and better every day and am walking a mile a day so far. I feel as though I could probably walk more than that but don't want to push it just yet. As of Friday I lost 13 pounds. I will get weighed again and support group tonight. I can see the pounds falling off and I feel lighter on my feet. Amazing!Yesterday was my first day to eat soft foods. No problems there either. I am excited about all of this and can hardly wait to be fully thin and healthier. I want my life back! One step or one day at a time, that's for sure. I am a wife and mother of 4 children and a grand-mother to two grand-babies (loves of my life). I am blessed for sure! I want to be healthier for me and my family. I need to be here with my grand-babies a long time, if the Lord permits. Well, I hope to make lots of friends and get encouragement and support from this site. Hope and prayers to all who are reading this and thanx to all of you who took the time to send me e-mails before and after my surgery. I didn't even know any of you and you sent love and well wishes. Totally blessed me. I got them all. Again thank you so much, Delia (that is what I like to go by; my middle name)
