Day 3...

Aug 28, 2009

I have decided to put a leash on the scale for a while and not get into looking at it everyday.  This becomes, I could see, an obsessive behavior.  I have had the VSG already, so unless I sabbotage myself to no end, this fat is commin' off.

A few extra items I am noticing that appear at first to be quite a concern, but not really.   This is more info for those who will follow this path.

1. Dry mouth, its OK and tolerable.
2. Ketosis, bad breath, which is also normal as the fatness melts away, ketones are relased from the fat cells. yeah!
3. A pain in the lower left side, just below the rib cage.  Again, normal for several weeks seeing that a large part of your stomach is now missing and the space needs to be taken up.  Not to mention all the moving and fixing the Dr. has done inside to make this happen.  Its sore, and will be for a while.
4. Sore back, mid section.  not sure, but I think its left over gas from the surgery, this has been getting better daily.
5. A complete lack of craving. with the ghrelin part of the stomach gone, BAM! no hunger cravings.

I watched the family down a nice pizza last night, I may as well have been looking at a coffee coaster being eaten.  Actually, no reaction to wanting or desiring to tear into pizza....at all.

So far, still some mild discomfort, no pain meds last night so it was not that bad.  I am beginning to LOVE MY SLEEVE :)
