Mary, my heart goes out to you and your frustration. I do have some suggestions.... does your doctor's program include a dietitian? If so, speak to that person about your daily diet. Are you eating too many carbs? Are you exercising? Hang in there and take care. Let me know if you need support.

Hi Mary, It sounds like you should call your nutritionist about the hunger. You may not be getting enough of what you need in what you are drinking. They can work wonders for you and they should just talk to you over the phone. Mine did. I called the same one that I went to for pre-op testing. Good luck! Kim

Hi Mary, I'm about 5 weeks post op and I experience the "hunger" pains you mentioned. It's weird because they feel like hunger pains, but they're not really, I think it's just the new pouch moving around.... I know when I eat, it doesn't really make the hunger pain go away... Drinking water helps though.... good luck to you.

Sorry they had to switch your surgery, but you'll be better for it in the long run. (long story) Glad you made it through. All I can say is try and get your vitamens in, and drink lots of fluids. That's enough of a challenge in the beginning alone. Best wishes

Well I survived!!! It definitely has not been easy, as matter of fact it has been a hard, painful, nerve racking experience. I know that I only had surgery on the 14th but when am I going to feel better??? Everyday brings a little more energy, a little less pain, but it is sure slow. I am only on full clear liquid diet so I am worried about getting adequate nutritional needs met. Thanks for all the support any further support or advice on diet, building energy, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mary
