My Name is Elizabeth (Maryam)
I have been overweight all my life from as far back as I can remember.
My weight as I've gotten older has become out of control. Over the past year I have gained about 40 to 50 lbs. Mostly is due to stress and depression.
I never thought I would ever see the scales read 300 lbs!! IM JUST SICK!!!
As a kid I always thought I was just the fattest thing that ever walked the face of the earth. I was always about 20 or 30 pounds heavier than the other kids. Their were girls fatter than me, but I think maybe I was more self concience. At age 15 I was probaly about 155 lbs and 5 foot 5 inches, (im 5'6 now). The kids made it seem I was a huge obese monster!! OMG teenagers can be especially cruel. Needless to say it didnt help my self esteem at all. I got over it however, for the most part in my adult life I ranged from age 21 until now at about 250 lbs, until this past year!!!
I do not want to lose weight to walk around in a mini skirt or a bikini, I want to lose weight to get my life back. I have a damaged nerve in my spine, along with a hip problem that i've had since age seven. I am walking on crutches now. I fear the huge amount that I weigh will start to damage my health more soon. As of now, No heart problems or diabetes thank God, but I have been diagnosed with Sleep apenea. Im very very nervous about getting the surgery, but I know its my only hope. I've tried every diet known to man before, I would lose weight and gain it and more back.
I have met many people that's had the gastric bypass surgery at my size and they have had good results and kept the weight off for years. Im looking to meet lots of friends here so we can share our experiences. Ive have my pulmonary, physch evaluation, done already. Im waiting for my Surgeon to submit to my insurance company and im praying they approve me without a problem.
