"My first impression of Dr. LePort was that he was a no nonsense type of person, which I liked very much. He laid out the facts and listened to and answered my questions. I felt confident in him and now post op feel the same way. I was set for surgery on 8/27/02 and was in the pre op room when Dr. LePort informed me he was not going to do surgery that day as my thyroid readings were not where they should be, though disappointed (greatly) I again saw his desire to do everything possible to get me the best outcome. My surgery was a month later.
His staff has been wonderful, from Vanessa doing all the paperwork to Dee-Dee's uplifting visits while in the hospital.
The support group on Thursday nights have been my lifeline and I would suggest anyone considering this surgery to attend a few. I am anxiously awaiting the next one tomorrow so I can get some information on the liquid and soft food diets. I thought I knew it all but now that I am in it I have some questions. Though I know I could call the doctors office it is the people that have walked the road before me that can give me the wisdom of their experiences.
I would recommend Dr LePort to anyone considering this surgery. "
