My Sleep Study/PFT/Chest X-ray

Oct 05, 2017

Guess what...... yes I had to do it. So my bariatric doctor did not required me to do a sleep study but when I went to the pulmonary doctors office in order for him to clear me I had to get this done plus PFT and Chest X-ray. Was I on top of them they were telling me that it was going to take a week and a half but I was like nope it was not going to take a week and a half because authorization you can call them to get it and that is pretty fast so I actually got my sleep study done on the 22nd of September. A day before I got the PFT and chest x-ray done and everything came out good. The experience was different, they scheduled my pick up and drop off (UBER). I got there about 8:30 and filled a bunch of papers asking questions like when I sleep, what time I sleep, if I wake up in the middle of sleep, and when I wake up, etc.... Finally they gave me a room which was in the same office like a prep room just with beds and tv and a heater. BTW it was freezing so I don't understand how people sleep and don't get diagnose with sleep apnea because it was uncomfortable in the sense that it was cold, they only provide with one flat pillow and one comforter. I didn't even use the TV and everything was put on me around almost 12AM which I was sleepy by 10PM. I had to wait for them for two hours and feeling extremely tired. They put these cable on your head, flank, chest, and legs. This paste they use was not hard to remove all I have to do is wash my hair massage my scalp and condition for like 5 min each. Then once I was done and fell asleep and saw my self waking up a few times. Which is not normal I only wake up once and is to close the door when my husband leaves to work in the early morning. Then I go back to sleep. Then I was told I snored a little bit but a cute snore whatever that means.... I was told that I stop or pause my breathing like 4 times and most likely I have sleep apnea. Well I went in for my clearance on the 9/29/17 and got cleared but was told I do have Mild Sleep Apnea but not enough to need a machine. Was I excited to hear that. Finally I am done with Pulmonary thought I was going to stay going to him forever... jajaja On to the next clearance.........
